This is almost exactly what the manga industry needs to keep going strong. I'd be happy to buy manga through a service, provided they release the new stuff quickly(get the new chapter translated and out within 2 weeks of it releasing in japan, more if it's a volume).

Too bad it's just for ipad/iphone.

The translated manga they are talking about is just for computers.

They will also have an iPad/iPhone app in Japan, but no confirmation yet whether the translated manga will be available with that app.

I have a Kindle DXG and I'd love to see more legally purchasable manga for it from somewhere, as the quantity and quality of Amazon's selection is laughable. It's a shame as manga can look absolutely gorgeous on the display.

If only they would release chapters as fast as fan-scans...
It'd be nice to get the latest chapters of manga without a long ass wait. I wouldn't mind paying for that.

I hope they'll release the extra, epilogue FMA chapter this way, and that it's available in Italy too.

DrunkMurray, that actually does look really good. After everything I've seen from it in general, I really am leaning towards a Kindle rather than iPad and manga would be a nice bonus.

Regardless, I'm just glad Square-Enix is moving towards a digital model.

How hard can it be to set up a PayPal, or World Pay account? The jury is still out about whether this will be the future, or "saviour" of manga as other print media on the Kindle, or PSP isn't raking in the dosh at the moment. Still there's no success without risk, but if they don't take the risk....... Wink
