On October 30, I had made a little more money than I spent for the month. Then I found Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok for $20 and had to pounce; putting my spending just above my earnings for the month.

$1319.60 made from anime sales on ebay through September
$2847.82 difference through September
October:
$357.87 spent
$350.89 made

$4525.29 YTD spent
$1670.49 YTD made
$2854.80 YTD difference

I'm not spending as much now I'm back at uni rather than working full time. Totals for October below:
Grand total: £137.22
Anime total: £1.69
Manga total: £90.48
Merch total: £43.00
Manhwa total: £2.05
I came into possession of an Amazon voucher, hence getting the Wind Rises collector's edition for £1.69 of actual money.
YTD: £1880.37. Might keep this year under £2k if I'm careful. Probably not though.

Not too bad. Went to Newcastle on Saturday hence the figures. The novels were Index 1 and Alice in the Country of Diamonds. I had a gift card for the bookstore though so I only had to pay for one of them.

November
Came in a shade under a hundy: $97.03
That got me 6 anime movies, including the official Kickstarter Time of Eve BD Deluxe edition which I bought off a lovely and talented ANN poster who had managed to procure an extra copy. I'd like to report that I'm only being charged money for it, but the poster in question has made it abundantly clear that I will be expected to provide other "compensation" should we ever meet in person. *sigh* Well, a deal is a deal, I guess.
The other five movies were Ghibli BD/DVD combos that were still in their shrinkwrap that I bought from a guy who got the wrong order from the Disney Movie Club and was told to just keep them: Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Totoro, Nausicaa, Ponyo and The Secret World of Arrietty.
In other words, my entire movie haul for the month came from people who benefited from shipping screw-ups and who then passed on that benefit to me!

I've had my fair share of luck over the years, but I have never had something that I've seen happen to a few other people: somebody orders an artbox + relevant volume but ends up getting ALL the volumes in the artbox. I'm pretty sure all the examples I've read about this happening come from Amazon.

$2854.80 difference through October
November:

Welp, here it is. As expected, December was the biggest month.
$4571.38 spent through the end of November
$1690.49 made from anime sales on ebay through November
$2880.89 difference through November
December:
$912.07 spent
$68.00 made
----------
2014 Grand Totals:
$5483.45 total spent
$1758.49 total made
$3724.96 total difference
Not too bad, all things considered. Filled in a lot of gaps as far as older series are concerned, so I imagine 2015 will be a bit lighter since I'll mostly be picking up new releases (of which only one or two each month seem to interest me).
I will probably also be stepping up my selling game as I have literally hundreds of mint condition, pre-watched titles sitting in boxes in my closet because they don't fit out on my shelves; and the only thing keeping them there is my own sentimental attachment to them.

End of the year is nearly here. So guess it's time to tally up the last round of anime spending I gorged in for 2014:
Itakiss- $33.46
Ookamikakushi and Good Luck Girl- $49.98
Vividred Operation- $49.98
Silver Spoon Season 2- $59.98
Psychic Detective Yakumo/ Pet Girl of Sakurasou (both sets)- $54.97
Log Horizon Season 2/ Love Election and Chocolate/ Psychic Squad (3 of 4 volumes)- $82.95
Code Breaker, Little Nemo, World of Narue, Hoshizora Kiseki/ Coffee Samurai and Big Windup- $5.92 (majority covered by Amazon gift cards)
Last Exile: Fam the Silver Wing (both sets)- $64.98
Golden Time Set 2- $29.98
December Total: $432.20
2014 Total: $3275.73
2013 Total: $3388.35
And by some miracle, I've managed to spend slightly less than I did last year. However thanks to the Right Stuf holiday sale, I noticed I spent over twice as much as I did at this time last year ($208.51).
Methinks I should attempt some sort of resolution for 2015. I shall try to keep my spending on anime to less than $3000 for next year as a goal. At any rate, Happy New Year to everyone here.

Yay for cutting expenses!
For 2014, I spent $1,679.24 on anime, compared with $2,771.95 in 2013.
Now, to see if I can further reduce that number this year. I'm only collecting a few series (Sailor Moon, Monogatari, Ghibli films), so the potential is there. We'll see what surprises the year brings.
