I didn't knew they held contest for "real" moe queen (and I have difficulties using the word "moe" to describe anything real but...)
Well, she is indeed pretty cute though, and it even led her to releasing an album...guess it's not a bad thing for her (even if I find this overboard...) |

Pedophilia doesn't even have anything to do with age of consent but the sexual attraction of a person who is 16 or older to a person that has not reached puberty yet. Anything older and it doesn't count as pedophilia. Laws mean shit |

Age of consent is different in Japan (I believe the age of consent in Japan is 13 under Japanese penal code article 176 and 177). Although the closest thing to what you're saying is Junior idol, I've read that children as young as 5 are doing these questionable modeling. I remember reading this article about Junior idol and some minor legal and ethical controversy over having pre-teens dress in scantily clad outfit. It does creep me out when I read about this. The moe queen thing is not that controversial unlike Junior Idol.

Actually, a lot of it DOES. Cultural difference also plays a huge role. But I'm not getting into that. That's a whole other beast. bottom line, its different.
And yeah, someone like a 5 year old is a bit problematic. |
