| Never heard of this manga, so I went to some manga scan-lating sites to see a couple of pages and it looks interesting. I think I'll get those when it ships in US. |

Serious question. How far does this manga have Meitantei Holmes (Sherlock Hound in the west) in its ancestral DNA?
Mind you, I will buy it anyway as I am a complete sucker for anything Holmesian! |

Kodansha has access to so many great manga in their publishing history.
And they give us a talking dog based off Sherlock Holmes? Pardon me as I go throw up.
And I really wish they'd finish some of the things Del Ray was releasing for them, like Suzuka. |

It's all in the $. This one likely will sell, maybe even make a nice profit.
Hopefully the money it generates will then let Kodansha tap into their publisher's trunk or finish some of those Del Ray titles.

my first reaction to that synopsis was 'WTF is this Sh*t!?!'
But you know what, i bet its actually okay.
Certainly different but amazingly its actually not unique as we already have Sherlock Hound of course.
What is it with the Japanese turning Sherlock Holmes into man's best friend |

| I love kindaichi case files and Tantei gakuen Q the author is one of my favorites so I am sure they will do the concept in a way that works out great. |

I had no idea the author of Shibatora was the same person as the author of Kindaichi. Why on earth does he have so many pen names? |
