Small error in the second paragraph:
Quote:
...who sits name to a boy only known as “Seki-kun.”

I assume that was supposed to be "next".

I suspect the original thought was "a boy named Seki-kun", and when that was corrected, it got muddled on the way to the fingertips. I've certainly had that happen to me.

I've been reading the manga ever since it started and this manga really did deliver in the comedy aspect. After reading this I really think to myself that he has everything under his desk lol. I don't really know how they will make 24min episodes of this anime because there's not much story to it except him just pulling stuff out his desk, but I'll watch it. Though no one should take my word on the story since I stopped reading in the middle of the manga because I'm to busy lately, so maybe something does happen later on that makes its story..

Boy does that hallway have a familiar feel to it.

Looking forward to this one now, I want to see how creative this boy gets. If he's a good as I was... Wink

I'd like it to be a fully-length TV anime, but the fact is, it'll probably be a 5-minute anime, probably web. There are currently only 3 volumes out in Japan, making minimal material.

You do realize that this series would be best represented as five minute, pratically silent shorts right?

Should be great as long as they keep it short and simple. Oh, and that they get that the real humor lies not in what he does, imaginatively playing during class, but how the straight girl reacts; Negatively, Positively, Combatively...

The live action short films didn't seem to catch on to that idea.

Ah this and yotsuba&! (and to a certian degree Nichijou) are my kind of lax yet charming slice of lifes. I've been reading the manga for a while now and thought it would be years later til I saw an anime adaptation, but I'm glad it got one!

I just wonder what format they'll do this in? as full 22 minute episodes or smaller segments like the mini shows?

I think "tonari no..." (meaning something like the person(s) next to or neighbouring you) is just a common Japanese phrase. Like Tonari no Totoro, etc.

Good point.

But still sounds suspicious, because it is not only the "Tonari no" but also the "-kun" (Seki-kun and Kaibutsu-kun), both are gakuen romantic comedies, who apparently have a male co-star who acts "strange".

Oh Well, with respect to the plot, we have so many similar mangas like it, but generally don't have so similar titles xD
