Oh good, a new Answerman column. I was starting to get bored...Anyway,

I've found volumes at Kinokuniya Bookstore in Japantown a couple of days before the supposed release date.
Where is this Japantown place?

It's in Internationalland, part of Globalvalley, in Galacticworld. Laughing

Or maybe uh, in Epcot Center? Japantown? Question

Or maybe that certain area of San Francisco or San Jose? There are a few Japantowns. '-'

The only Japantown (not in Japan) I know of with a Kinokuniya store is the San Francisco one.

And I also got my GTO v.25 there.

Oh thanks. I was wondering since I haven't heard of any Japantown anywhere near me.

There are a few Kinokuniya stores scattered around here and there so there may be one in your area.

In fact (shameless plug) they all should be getting copies of the Anime Companion 2 in a couple of weeks.

Seconded Wink , but Koi Koi 7 isnt THAT bad of a show; granted Shuffle! is a better show. I'd probably reserve KK7 for headaches and annoyance.

There is also one in the Los Angeles Japantown.

Actually it's in my folder and waiting to be watched, but I'll try and include it with the next column (yes, I'm not done with my short previews just yet).

That one's usually called Little Tokyo though. :X

I loooove the San Francisco Japantown. But I'm biased because I grew up in the area. X3

True enough, although several of my friends call it J-Town.

I work at Borders and I can tell you- manga never has a release date. Actually 90% of all books never have a release date. Only major authors, like Rowlings or Stephen King, get release dates. Everything else gets put out as soon as it gets to the store.

That being said, Tokyopop has always sent their books out earlier to bookstores, than what the website says. I don’t know why, since comic shops always seem to get their books in late. But it’s the opposite with Viz. For a long time, we would get in Viz’s books exactly a month late, every single month, while the local comic shop would get them on time. I don’t know if this has anything to do with the whole bookstore vs. comic shop issue, but Viz has gotten much better- although I'm still waiting for Banana Fish volume 8 and that was supposed to be out in June...

If there's anyone to blame regarding the start of/end of season 1, it was me. I guess its wishful thinking. Anyway, I see that it was removed.

Koi Koi 7 is an April 2005 release. Yes, it was so bad that not a single fansub group picked it up until this season (ANN itself says 2005-04 as the release, and I saw raws popping up in April and May). I think my favorite line was (paraphrased): "Although we're only six in number, people call us Koi Koi 7!" The show's creators really loved the name "Koi Koi 7," but somehow they couldn't find enough cliched characters to get a cast of appropriate size. In an anime that's already skimping on just about everything else, they're also missing an entire character. Unless, of course, the surprise plot twist in episode 12 is that the silver-haired girl, due to her love of the main male lead, decides to lend her mysterious powers (which have been hinted at up until now but never fully explained) to the group, forming the "complete Koi Koi 7!"

Koi Koi 7 isn't just the worst show last season. Not even the worst show this year. It may very well be the worst anime series ever.

Except, possibly, for Tenkuu Danzato Skelter Heaven.[/i]
