Hi all,
I've been trying to identify this anime for literally YEARS and I try again every so often, but to no avail. It's something I was obsessed with when I was a little kid. It was shown in Hong Kong sometime around 1992-1994 if I remember correctly. It's like an action type anime. I remember the main character is a boy, not very tall. The main element of this show was that this boy had this special sword, and in the middle of the sword, he was able to attach "Element Balls" (Different elements like fire, water etc.) and then his sword would gain that ability. I think one of the bad guys (taller dude) had the "Wind" Element ball. Then I also remember one episode where the main character boy went to some shrine or something and he was able to combine all of his element balls into a "master" element ball and it turned his sword crazy or something. That's all I can remember. If anybody could identify this I'd be forever grateful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks! |

Can anyone please refer me to a link to an anime entitled Fairy Tail, or was it Fairy Tale? No, i am not referring to the currently popular Fairy Tail headed by characters natsu, grey, lucy, erza, etc. Im having trouble finding it in google because of the floods of info featuring Fairy Tail by Mashima Hiro.
I remember that it was a harem and drama type anime with one male protagonist that likes to play his harmonica with a melancholic tune. The anime centers around this guy being joined by his deceased pets that have been reincarnated into human form. Sorry for the trouble, I'm just feeling nostalgic over the melody/tune of one of the songs. |

I think this is the anime your looking for: Angel Tales
If that's it, then maybe it can lead you to what you want out of it. |

It would be Yaiba.
That was based on a manga written by the same author of Detective Conan. edit: Some posts are inserted. This is a reply for berdmehn. Last edited by Mits on Thu Oct 13, 2011 11:03 pm; edited 1 time in total |

I have been looking for this anime for about a week and no luck at all. The only thing I remember is a little about the first episode. In the first episode this teenager takes a test with the robot and two other people vs dummies as a test battle. But the battle goes wrong when the dummy pilot is piloted by the best pilot they have and they failed their mission horrible. Also his friend/brother is what they called a terrorist... The only thing I also remember is they are teenager, piloting mechs, one has silver/gray hair. And the one pilot is a girl.
This is not any of the Gundam serious!! Sorry if this isn't much help this is all I remember about the anime. Please help me!! |

Wait, so that's why Yaiba keeps showing up in DC? |

I’m not sure, but Gasaraki came to mind. @Gina Szanboti Does Yaiba appeared in Detective Conan? I didn’t know that because I watched only limited episodes. Well, it is true that Yaiba and DC were written by the same author. This means that it would be easier to clear the license matter. |

@cloud2312: The mecha and "brother is a terrorist" elements remind me of Strain: Strategic Armored Infantry. That's my best guess, anyhow...

Now and then, as the children's anime hero Kamen Yaiba ("Masked Yaiba" in English), who the kids in the Junior Detective League are all obsessed with. From what little I know, Kamen Yaiba has more in common with Action Bastard from Shin Chan than he does the "real" Yaiba. |

Ah, so it's kind of self-parody. |

It's a double parody, Yaiba being his previous character and as a whole Kamen Yaiba sounds very much (in Japansese pronunciation) like the super popular franchise, Kamen Rider (Raida). |
