Y'know, I was GOING to watch Fist of the north star on my own at some point, but now this just pushed me even further to hurry up and do it...

...man I have issues...

Just remember that the anime starts off with some pretty bad filler. I think it's so bad it's good, but your mileage may vary. The manga doesn't have any of that, though, so I'd recommend that over the anime.
