As much as I am loathed to admit it, I'm on the author's side. Japanese laws in regard to pornographic material are (from what I have heard), quite odd.
No genetalia shown at all, but adolenscent sex is fine? Sounds backwards to me. |

I'd have to go with the publisher/author, aswell.
He has a point in stating that the subject material was properly labled, and sold only where it should have been.
If this happend because minors got ahold if it, well, thats not his fault, I don't believe.
Yeah, Japan has some very confusing laws based on this stuff. |

Actually, it's just the publisher going to court.

| This probably isn't as much news as you would think. At least in the US court system, there are often a chain of appeals ledaing up to the Supreme Court. |

| The amusing thing about this all is that Misshitsu is no where NEAR the most obscene manga available commercially. |

I'd give my vote to the snuff/gore category of ero manga by artists such as Uziga Waita...
Any case, I'm all for Kishi-san appealing this case. Even to those who are against all ero manga or don't believe this is a free speech issue, is should be pretty clear that this man was maliciously prosecuted and unfairly targeted. |

I don't see the problem with nudity, everyone was born nude, it isn't something to be ashamed about. If you ask me pornography is supposted to have some sort of nudity involved otherwise it wouldn't sell. It is werid how animated child pornography is allowed but its not ok to show adults having sex. I guess the Japanese don't like to see mature nudity that is why most hentai is about teenagers and therefor don't have a problem with loli-con. I am on the authors side, hentai is pornography and pornography has to show some sex in it, it can be harcore, it can be softcore it's all up to the authors creativity. Maybe they can have a warning label on it but it shouldn't be banned. |
