| It's pretty cheap. A friend of mine told me it's the best variation of the series, because it's darker than the one which preceded it. |

I'm VERY excited for this. I'm also excited for the B&W version being released next year. I've seen (recently, I don;t remember the original brodcast, as I would have been just born) some of the eps, and and have recently seen some pretty old Kimba eps. I'm not sure about content, but the animation was MUCH smoother than in the originals. I've heard, though, that the B&W is more faithful to the manga.
I guess only time will tell. Thumbs up to Manga though, for bringing us a TV classic, and for proving once again that they are still in business, and still psudo-active. |

Wow looks like were getting 2 more releases of 'Astro Boy' coming out. In total we now have 3. 'TRSI' is releasing the old 1963 version, 'Manga' is releasing the 1980's version. Then there's the 2003 remake released by 'Tristar Home Entertainment/Columbia'.
Though I've never seen any 'Astro Boy', I'm curious to know how much from the original episodes is similar to both the 1980 and 2003 versions. Considering that the older series ran some 193. I'm guessing the 2003 version ended up being a remake of the 1980 version. But of the older series I wonder how many episodes led up to any similarities in the later versions. |
