Characters such as parenthesis break the BB code's parser. You can either use anchor tags, or use %28 and %29 in place of the left and right parentheses, respectively.

Another option would be to use HTML, since the quotations solve that problem.

Huh, never knew it was called an anchor tag, or what all you could do. We were taught what to use and what it did in school, not what it was called.
