Hmm...well I'm certainly glad that more females are becoming interested in anime and manga; but as a girl, I have to agree with what was said about liking both shojo and shonen titles. Some shojo can just be too overwhelming at times, and shonen (as long as it's good, mind you) provides a well-needed break.

And maybe it's just me, but I had never realized that "Imadoki!" was so popular...

Heh, Wherever you see "Female" "Woman" "Girl" "Shoujo" etc. Fruits Basket shows up.

I certainly hope that when they say "much of the televized anime" part, they mean "began as a serialized comic", and not "brightly uniformed, space-age girl heroines". Stereotypes are hard enough to get rid of.

Still, I doubt this article will get any attention from people other than us and the people who read Yahoo Asia News on a regular basis. I can't find it on the main Yahoo.
