iVDRs look like something long forgotten from the '90s. They're basically a high speed portable HDD which seems faulty considering solid state drives are where we're going, not hard disks. Not even sure what the advantage is of having an iVDR over a 2.5" portable drive with eSATA (or even USB 3), you need a special dock for iVDR.

I think this could be a fun novelty, kind of like the Chisa Yokoyama Live in LA laserdisc Pioneer put out.

But even though I like Halko Momoi, I wouldn't pay $225 for the ability to watch that concert.
