I am. For the first few episodes I thought he just didn't like Rin hanging out with Haru for some reason, but it seems like something else is bothering him. I really hope we get some specifics soon. |

Whatever it is, it's not something that can be fixed by spoiler[swimming in a relay]. That shocked me a bit since spoiler[relays] seemed to be the panacea of Free! so far...  But i guess it's too early in the season to resolve everything.
Loved Momo's and Nitori's interaction in this ep. and the fact that both Rin and Haru spoiler[got scouted (now if only haru made up his mind already...).] |

Is it just me or do the kids kinda resemble the mini versions of the main characters?
Anyways, a slow episode but had some decent built up. I really hope we get more back story on Sosuke soon. I like how spoiler[Makoto was able to help out Hayato to overcome his fear.] |

Makoto as spoiler[kids coach], kinda sweet ^^
Seems like his pretty good at it too. A new character makes an appearance. Looks likespoiler[ Kisumi was Makoto's friend from middle school.] Guess Haruka doesn't like him that much.. spoiler[Kiumi's little brother, Hayato, was lucky to have the kind-hearted Makoto as a teacher. Guess he's gonna be a backstroke swimmer like Makoto ^^] spoiler[Gou can't swim] ROFL Wonder why she doesn't learn.. The disappointment was obvious when spoiler[Makoto was told it was a temporary thing.] He loves it & the kids love it. Shame... Sousuke info got revealed. No wonder he's having problems with slower swim time. |

Makoto is so great with spoiler[kids]! I wonder if he'll focus on that as a career. Now that we've seen spoiler[Kisumi], will we get others from the second novel? I wish they would have let Gou spoiler[know how to swim]...
The hesitation Rin noticed with Sousuke has a real explanation. What he's doing is fairly dangerous if spoiler[his shoulder hasn't healed, and could seriously impact his future as a competitive swimmer.] I guess this is why Sousuke has been so moody, though. Drama seems to be on the horizon. That preview was serious. |

Aww, spoiler[Coach Makoto] was so sweet! I think it'd be great if spoiler[he chose a career where he could work with kids.]
So I'm guessing that Sousuke spoiler[has not actually recovered from his shoulder injury.] In fact, I'm now beginning to think that spoiler[he was lying about being scouted. This would explain why he seemed to hesitate before he mentioned being scouted to Rin, back in episode 2, and why he got upset when Rin started talking about swimming on the same team together when they got to university.] This really makes his behavior so far make so much more sense... |

This is what I'm thinking. Or maybe he was spoiler[scouted, but the offer was pulled after the injury? Either situation has got to be tough for him. "Being scouted" is a good enough excuse for his switch, though. His old school would have been aware of the injury and kept him from the competition. Wait--did they mention him being an opponent in that regional relay at the end of S1? I wonder if his injury occurred then.] |

Free Eternal Summer episode 9:
Decent episode. We get spoiler[swimming competitions and I give some praise to Ren. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for Haruka. Even though he just wants to swim free, he isn't doing well...] That spoiler[dream also seemed a bit ominous this episode. I liked the built-up overall and execution though.] |

spoiler[Nitori] finally showed he can swim for real.
Guess all the training payed off. With Regionals just around the corner Iwatobi is training hard too. Iwatobi & Samezuka in the same hotel ^^ A spoiler[scout] makes a personal appearance. Haruka didn't look that thrilled about it. spoiler[Rin] was well aware of the scouts & he was very serious about them. spoiler[Haruka] was feeling cornered by all the pressure.. Guess other people's expectations were messing with his head. Regionals were on a totally different level than Prefecturals. spoiler[Makoto didn't make it to the finals. Haru quit. Rin] was amazing! spoiler[Haruka] got strangled by the water... he just couldn't take the pressure. spoiler[Rin confronted Haru] and he snapped.. Damn, that's so not the spoiler[Haru] we're used to seeing. Wonder what is his trauma & fear... |

Wow...totally not what you'd expect from Haru...spoiler[that nightmare sure was something.] After that part, I basically spent the whole rest of the episode going spoiler["Oh no, he's going to swim poorly, oh, he's going to give up, no Haru no, don't stop swimming!"]
And things aren't all sunshine and roses for the Samezuka team, either...while of course I'm really glad that spoiler[Nitori is able to swim in the relay], we have spoiler[Rin angry at Haru for what he did], and spoiler[Sousuke's shoulder just seemed to be getting worse and worse as the episode went on.] Everything's so dramatic this episode... |
