Sure. It's what got me more sucked in because I had no idea there was so much more. I grews up in the 70's watching 'Battle of the Planets' and 'Speed Racer'. In my HS years a senior student introduced 'Urusei Yatsura'. Once I started attended anime clubs that's where it took off from there. Meeting people and trading tapes. From 1985 up to 1994 I had the chance of seeing

Prefectural Earth Defense Force (first OVA I ever saw at a club)
Outlanders
Iczer-1 series
Iczer-3
Dangaioh OVAs
Appleseed
Macross Do you Remember Love
Bubblegum Crisis series
(AIC)
Dirty Pair Project Eden
Black Magic M-66
(Shirow)
Devilman/Battle of Shiren films
(Go Nagai)
Kekko Kamen
Wicked City
Akira
Castle in the Sky Laputa
(Streamline Pict. dub)
Giant Robo series
New Cutey Honey
Armitage III
(both sub and dub)

I am a youngish fan (I'm 20) and I've watched a few, but not many pre 1994 shows. Sailor Moon is my favourite, but I've also seen some Astro Boy and Akira. Was Fushigi Yuugi pre-94? I know the manga began in 92...

Ginga Nagareboshi Gin is the only pre-1994 anime I've watched that I enjoyed. And even then the obvious aging, with the bad animation and cheesy voice acting and music, kind of lessened my enjoyment, hence why I prefer Ginga Densetsu Weed, resulting in a lot of Ginga fans trying to burn me at the stake. However, despite its flaws, I still like Gin. It's a great series if you ignore its obvious signs of age.

Also, the original Dragon Ball. Haven't watched a lot of it, but from what little I've seen from back when I was a kid, I really liked it.

A definite yes for me. Some of the best romantic comedies are from the 80s - I love Maison Ikkoku and Kimagure Orange Road. My very first two anime were Sailor Moon and Tenchi Muyo!, which are both from 1992. I would love to watch more 80s anime; I've always been curious about Touch because many of its fans also love KOR and MI. Sadly, it seems unlikely that many more classic series will be licensed, but I'm glad to have been able to watch what I can.

I liked a lot of stuff when I was a kid in the 70s and 80s (Battle of the Planets, Star Blazers, Robotech, etc). I found it back then to be so different and more interesting than American cartoons. However, I find I can't watch most of it now. There are a few titles that I do still enjoy and some I even watch again every couple of years. These are the ones I can think off the top of my head:

1. Akira (1988)
2. Roujin Z (1991)
3. Appleseed (1988)
4. Black Magic M-66 (1987)
5. Nausicaa (1984)
6. Yawara! (1989)

The only 1994 or older anime I've watched recently that I hadn't watched previously are Battle Angel and Burn Up!. I watch Miyazaki's work constantly, and have seen numerous pre-1994 shows when they aired in the US, (Speed Racer, Gigantor, Star Blazers, Battle of the Planets, Capt Harlock, etc.) but Battle Angel and Burn Up! are the only two since.

Robotech was my gateway show; I can't deny it. After that, I sought out other titles, and 1989-1999 was the time I was really into anime.

During that time, I ran an anime BBS (sort of a repository for scripts, GIFs, etc.), collected laserdiscs imported from Japan, took Japanese, attended cons, fansubbed, and became a part of the small anime community in the US. Some highlights for me were fansubbing Ninja Scroll, Utena and Lain before those titles got licensed, flying to CA one year for AX, attending the first Katsucon, being on staff at the first Anime Central, writing a bunch of reviews for a site that didn't last long called Anime Colony, and working on subtitle scripts for ADV for a few years.

With that in mind, most of my favorite anime was produced before 1994. I'm sure nostalgia plays a big part, but that's how it is. The SDF Macross movie, Megazone 23, Bubblegum Crisis, Dirty Pair: Project Eden, Gunbuster, Windaria, Vampire Princess Miyu, Wings of Honneamise, Iczer-One, Dominion, Riding Bean, Robot Carnival, Project A-ko, Kimagure Orange Road, Maison Ikkoku, Here is Greenwood, Video Girl Ai, Please Save My Earth, Ninja Scroll, Angel's Egg, Lodoss War, and Giant Robo are all among my favorites (although the last episode of Giant Robo didn't come out until the late 90s!).

Evangelion came out in 1995 and had a huge influence on what came later.

I like a few anime that are pretty old, there is this really good one that I've seen that is almost 20 years old ( and no its not Sailor Moon even though i do like that one too) Its Mama is a 4th Grader and I've only seen 5 episodes ( They're the only episodes in English subs) and of course theres Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service and Grave of the fire flies. Very Happy

If only you'd set the year to 1995, then I could have included a couple more titles but I have to say that I enjoyed Akira but it is definitely not something to show to an 8 year old. I say this because my brother thought it would be a good idea to show it to me then.

[Edit] I also have to add Yuyu Hakusho to the list because I was not aware that it was before 1994.

[More Edit] I must also add Lupin the III. I loved watching that when it was on cartoon network. This and Kiki's Delivery Service should be the last of it.
