| oh wow that was...odd. Did they actually produce this themselves I mean I could see it fitting with the other shows on adult swim comedy... | |||

| So, they bought some dolls, voiced over them, and half of the time didn't even attempt to make them move... seriously I could probably make a film like this at home with my video camera and my whole load of gachapon figures. | |||

| I would like to point out that this is a show that was made for older (read: "adult") viewers to begin with, whereas [School] Ghost Stories ("Gakkou no Kaidan") was a family-friendly drama series (though I imagine the original JPN ver. of the latter probably has some comedic moments).
And that's all I have to say about it. Ja ne. |

| The series started as "The Fuccan Family" and became "Oh! Mikey." They probably just picked the former name because it works better as a brand.
If you're curious about the show, I wrote an article on it and the show that spawned it called Vermillion Pleasure Night: http://www.animefringe.com/ |

| VPN, Fuccan Family and the Oh! Mikey DVDs all have English subs. I know that seems strange for R2 releases, but the Japanese companies really took some time and did some accomplished subs. The first VPN DVD (VPN Gold) is the only one where the sub track kind of stinks, but the others are great.
If you like weird ass stuff, then be sure to check out the Grasshoppa! series. Those R2 DVDs contain subs too. (And I wrote about that title also: http://www.animefringe.com/ If you had to buy only one R2 DVD, then track down "The Color of Life: Vermillion Pleasure Night The Movie" as it has the best VPN sketches and alternate versions of Fuccan Family sketches mixed in. Full subs too! |
