There's a reason for it. Trust me, Fuccon's is not that well known, but honestly, I find low budget humor both scary and...well halarious Wink. Then again, that's just me.

Out of curiosity, will there be a "Not an anime but related" entry for this?

Nah. While Fucons is of interest to anime fans (otherwise we wouldn't have agreed to do this), it isn't actually related to anime IMHO.

Talk about taking a dump on your readers ANN!!!! First we're subjected to Zac's judgemental comments about fansubs and now an ugly full page ad about a very niche, low-level looking show.
Wow how about you guys review some anime for a change, that's all I used to come here for. Animeondvd.com and animenfo.com have definitely owned you (sorry for the net phrase) .
Get your head out of the sand guys!

Nice feature. Never noticed it before. I usually just drop in for news and the encyclopedia. ^^;;;

Thank god for good ol' "ANN 5th Anniversary - Dark Blue" skin.

Are skins handled by cookies? I have my browser set to nuke them upon close.

If you really dislike it you can set your skin to the default sking, or anyother skin.

We have other skin options?! This is the first I've heard about that. I don't think I've ever seen the option in the users options or have any idea of what the other skin options usually are available.

That said, I probably won't mess with it - it actually isn't bad to occasionally change skin colors and if it's going bye-bye in a week I can live with it (plus I'm getting use to it) Smile

PS: However, if you can please try and never do red/green or blue/green layout if possible, I'd be grateful - particularlly when it comes to blue/green. Over the years I've discovered I seem to be a bit blue/green colorblind and I once ran into a layout that was in the exactly wrong hues of blue and green, ending in me not being able to read it because it looked like a big blur of blue and green Shocked. If that is what happens to those who are red/green colorblind I feel sorry for them Sad

I didn't like it, however I'm not going to get up in arms about it honestly. It's a skin, you don't like it? Just change it. Don't know how? It's not hard, there's an options in the "Interactive" menu to the left called "Skins", the default is the dark blue 5th anniversary skin if I recall but then again I've used it forever so can't recall if it's always been like that.

As for the change or the site "selling out", that's not a very good thing to say. I think people take too much of what is free for granted, because in the end nothing is truly free. This site costs money to run and produce, you people need to realize that, and they have to get that money from someone. You should be happy they're not making you pay for memberships and are exploring other options. Nobody likes ads, I certainly don't, but a site this big and popular has to pay its bills. Nobody likes paying to use a site either and I'm sure if they went that route people would be even more upset. I'm sure they'd be happy to take suggestions from users as to other means they can use to fund the site and its future endeavours if you think you have a better way.

what in the name of god... Shocked

so you're like basically in their pockets now huh?

seriously though, i hope this show gets an audience for all the promotion they're putting behind it. from what i've seen it's pretty funny, it could work great on Adult Swim. why would you guys promote it anyway? i mean it's really not anime... but wahtever pays the rent i guess.

that color is horrifying.

It was reviewed on Something Awful for about a year, so I assume that there are people willing to buy it. I wonder why ADV doesn't advertise there.

If you really dislike it you can set your skin to the default skin, or any other skin.

We expressly left that option open for people who don't like fuccons.

Thank God. I can't imagine anyone would like Fuccons. There's a fine line between creepy and nightmare-inducing. Shocked

I never noticed that before Embarassed. BTW, some of the time menu on the left isn't coming up right under this skin - hopefully that will clear up soon Smile.

What The Fuccons? I clicked ANN on my favorites and BAM these creapy things appeared. I cant really define sell out anymore because well everyone else does it I mean look at Snoop Dogg so I will still fully support ANN because whats wrong with making a little money. Just a little creepy. I checked the site and I am not amazed, or even remotely interested in checking this out. This IS still Anime News Network right? It wont become Creapy Manaquin News Network? I can´t wait until it turns back to normal.

The other day I was at Best Buy and saw the new ADV release GHOST STORIES or something like that and ADV placed a sticker quoting ANN and I was like ¨Cool I like that website¨ so I kinda saw this coming. You know kinda I scratch your back you scratch mine kinda thing.

There's nothing particularly wrong with selling out, imho. In fact, I've always wanted to try it myself.

It's not as easy as most people think :/.

Nah :-p

Ask us to review Yumeria or ShadowSkill again and we'll probably still give them C's.

Ask us to review Gantz and we'll probably still give it a B+
