DAAAAAAMN!!! This is *precisely* the kind of job I'd love to be doing. Damn you, CPM, for being based in New York! |

I have a couple friends who interned there - most of CPM's titles are hentai, so you end up doing quality control for porn.
Plus if you work your way up to a full-time staff position eventually, their pay is abysmally low for NYC - something like $20K per year.
Then there's the future of the company - CPM's anime division seems kind of shaky at best. They're not aquiring new titles that sell particularily well. Maybe their manga division has more promise?
Anyway, if you were a student in the NYC area you'd be better off interning at 4Kids. I know 4Kids is the evil empire to anime fans, but they it strikes me as a company with some kind of future (and you wouldn't have to QC porn). |

And since when has getting paid to watch porn been wrong? |

It's not wrong but the ideal hentai viewing experience might be in the privacy of one's own home, and not, say, a quality control check of a DVD in a crowded office watching the same hentai you've seen a million times of some perverse subgenre that you might not actually be interested in.
Checking porn for working menus and sound quality might not be all it's cracked up to be. Although getting college credit for doing so is hilarious.
I also realize I've met the guy who posted the job... eep! |
