IMHO, yes. The included book and postcards use good, heavy paper stock. The box and disc case are glossy, and the artwork is sharp. This is a quality package. I plan on watching the film tonight. Since Justin Sevakis worked on the Blu-ray, I know it will be quality too.

Man, thanks for the boner! ;p

I hope mine arrives today!

That is beyond awesome can you post some screen grabs? Did they make any new extra features for it? That would be amazing if the interview Bandai Entertainment made with Syd Mead somehow found its way to the JP side.

I wish I could post screen grabs, but I do not know, nor do I have the equipment to do it. The extras are, what I assume to be, some episodes with commentary and clean opening and ending. It has that interview in the nice and thick booklet that comes with it.

It should also include Pale Cocoon and Aquatic Language in there somewhere...

From the Sentai sale I picked up:
Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky
Listen to Me Girls I'm Your Father Complete Collection

I was expecting the comic shop to have more in the way of manga, since I haven't been there for a month. I expect in two weeks they might have more (as they typically get more manga in the first week of a month, but this week is counted as a fifth week in September when it comes to books so..) but still, I did get some other comics that I wasn't paying attention to having come out. I also hit a used game shop nearby it, looking for PS2 games, but they had other stuff I wanted, not a bad day overall.

Comics
Adventure Time TPB 5
Courtney Crumrin 5, 6
Dragon Ball omni 16, 17, 18
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic TPB 5

Games (which were buy one get one half off, forcing me)
Catherine
South Park: The Stick on Truth

Both PS3

A little late, but of course I went to Nan Desu Kan again this year, and of course I bought far too much~ A good portion of it actually wasn't anime-related, which is kinda weird for me, but what can I say? I love those stupid alpacas!

Natsume's Book of Friends v16
The Devil is a Part Timer box set

And a couple figures. This Utena figure is pretty much the reason I went this year:

And this figma (my first figma btw) of Kurapika from Hunter x Hunter just kind of happened:

I also own all of Revolutionary Girl Utena now, but I didn't buy that at the con.

The copy of Attack on Titan that I was fretting about came the Monday after I fretted about it. Churrah for that!

My copy of the Time of Eve Blu-ray will probably come tomorrow. I have been waiting for it for a pretty long time. It promises to be one of the most preposterously, splendidly elaborate items in my collection. What's more, no goddamned challenge coin!

Anyway, I have some reckless self-indulgence planned for Columbus Day weekend, so after some deliberation, a gin and tonic and two Americanos, I placed orders with TRSI and with Amazon for the following:

Anime
3 x 3 Eyes (Volumes 1 & 2)
Gunslinger Girl (volume 1 with artbox and volume 2)
Ringing Bell
Sea Prince and Fire Child
Short Peace

(Also: Far from the Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy, but that doesn't count here)

In ordering 3 x 3 Eyes, I am in no small part satisfying very old curiosity. I remember the title lingering around the shelves at Suncoast Video and cropping up pretty often whenever anime was mentioned very early in my interesting in violent, pornographic Japanese cartoons. I've never really been sure what to think of, but it has a respectable reputation and as the opportunity to buy matched a desire to see, I decided to take a chance on it. If nothing else, it should appeal to my affection for 'classical' OVAs. A dub directed by the creator of Gargoyles is an alluring curio.

I'm known to like 'girls-with-guns' shows and Gunslinger Girl is almost as literal about that as one can get. I know, of course, that it's not all that much like the Bee Train trilogy, but that's an inducement. I think that it might be uncomfortable to watch, but I also think that might be why it's worth seeing. The series is well regarded in a lot of quarters and I'm intrigued, though a little wary, myself. (I actually watched the sequel, Gunslinger Girl: Il Teatrino a few years ago; I don't feel any impulse to revisit it) I ordered the old DVD edition as it was relatively cheaper than the Blu-ray one, which I'm given to understand offers little real advantage.

I've had an interest in Ringing Bell for a year or two for its intriguingly dark themes. I'm also very curious to see how such an potentially unnerving premise will seem in the 'family picture' animation style that it seems to have. I expect, with some weird satisfaction, that it will amplify the disturbing characteristics of the film. I have a distinct sense that this could be a very memorable experience for me.

I don't know much about Sea Prince & Fire Child, but it seems to go hand-in-hand with Ringing Bell and I'm told that it's a less than cheerful product itself. I'm pretty curious to see what I've gotten into here.

I ordered Short Peace because I was looking to fill a niche in my intended 'playbill' as it were and happened to notice it while perusing the Sentai Filmworks items that were discounted. It will fill the niche almost perfectly and I am genuinely curious to see it. I've enjoyed these anthologies before. I find something about them interesting even when some of the constituents are not successes. I'm very keen on seeing what these particular mixture offers.

^Glad you got Sea Prince and Ringing Bell! An interesting thing about Sea Prince in particular is that Koichi Sugiyama did the soundtrack for it. He would go on to do the Dragon Quest series soundtrack so if you've played any of those, you'll have DQ flashbacks constantly while watching Sea Prince (depending on how into DQ you are, I really love DQ, especially the music). It's a shame he didn't do more anime soundtracks, but yeah, they'd probably all sound like DQ anyway.
I think Ringing Bell is the more depressing of the two, Sea Prince is Romeo & Juliet so you kind of know where it's going already.

I also got in my 90s You're Under Arrest! set in that I bought from Wooga (she'll have more to sell soon, I assure you)

Well, my copy of Time of Eve from the kickstarter was waiting for me when I got home an hour ago. According to the packaging I was order #71 (they must have shipped it out in reverse order starting with order #1381, lol). So far it looks fantastic and I'm really pleased. It came with a real booklet not the "leaflet" that some companies try to call a book. Can't wait to get the Fan Book next month too plus the A4 illustration (when is that supposed to be coming?). Ooh, I can't wait to pop it in and watch the movie and listen to the soundtrack. Unfortunately I got to do some work tonight so I will have to wait on this treat a little longer.

@ SA - I hope you like Short Peace - I saw it in a theatre and liked all four segments but my favourite was the last one. It's very slick.

Why yes, it is! Sadly it must go on my backlog of "long series" for now, which Slayers and G Gundam are both also in that queue. I've been trying to knock out some 12-13 ep series lately, make the pile at least feel smaller, y'know?
