I just placed my first ever order with Robert's Anime Corner Store for the Premium sets of both seasons of Yuru Yuri. The reason is that due to financial issues I missed out getting season 1 from TRSI. Of course, as per usual RACS jacked the price up (by $20 over their regular price) but at least it's not as bad as the vendor at a con I went to who wanted $100 for an OOP NISA set. I also noticed RACS had a slightly lower price than TRSI for season 2 so I ordered both. I also noticed that RACS now does free shipping at $50 (but you have to enter a code).

Just imported the Kenshin live action films from the UK. Until the ANN podcast I had no clue they had been licensed there. I have seen the first one (on a flight to Japan) but still have not seen the latter two films in the trilogy. Looking forward to finally being able to see them.

Grabbed Honey and Clover manga lot (all 10 volumes) on Ebay for about $6 a volume... not too shabby.

Also nabbed volumes 20 and 21 of Tsubasa RC.. only need volume 22 now... might be the only one to make my wallet weep. Damn OOP prices....

Comic shop in Newcastle might still have a copy if you don't mind paying cover price + shipping across the pond. I'll be down there in a couple of weeks.

That would be most excellent of you! Cover price plus over the pond shipping is still better than the crazy prices people want here for a used/most likely ex-library copy.

Since I worked the Monday holiday I know I'll have extra $$ next week.
With that in mind I just made my first pledge increase for Barefoot Gen for Schools and Libraries

21 hours to go
$32,800 pledged of the $36,000 goal
590 backers

A one dollar pledge is all that's needed to back Last Gasp's effort to
print 4000 copies of a new, hardcover edition.

******
it's after 11pm where I'm at and I gotta go to work, but so far...

614 backers

$33,375 pledged of $36,000

16 hours to go

Completed 2 more manga series that I neglected for many many years.

Yakitate Japan vols 11-26 (complete)
D Gray-man vol 16-24 (complete up to what has been released so far) Hoshino just came back from a 3 year hiatus in July, and DGM is now running in a quarterly magazine, so it will be a long while before any new volumes are released.

Out of sheer temptation, I got Doomed Megalopolis from a local video store today while I was out and about.

I was at Book-Off yesterday and picked up a couple of artboxes for series I have the singles for. I got the artbox for Texhnolyze for $5 and incredibly I found the artbox for Haibane Renmei for $12. I also bought the artbox and all singles for Hanaukyo Maid Team - La Verite for $30. I also got a copy of copy of Getter Robo Armageddon for $5; all of the above used but appear to be in perfect shape.

I also picked up a couple of manga volumes from Kinokuniya: volume 11 of Flowers of Evil and volume 14 of Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service. I thought about ordering the latter from the Dark Horse sale at TRSI while ordering something expensive but the new site is so wonky I just paid cover price.
