Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit = Steelers
Howl's Moving Castle = Seahawks

Steelers win the Super Bowl, Wallace and Gromit win the Annies and the Oscar.

Then again, he already won a long-deserved Oscar for "Spirited Away." I feel that the Oscar will be reluctant to give out the trophy to foreign people.

I don't really keep up with most of the Oscar categories, but "best animated short" was won by a Canadian in 05, an Australian in 04, a Brit in 01, a Russian in 00, a German in 97, more British in 96, 95, 94 and 91, a Canadian in 88, an Italian in 87 and so on. I don't see where you get the idea that the Acadamy doesn't like foreigners...

Actually you'll find that Disney, through Buena Vista Japan, funded a good deal of the film full stop.

umm a bit off topic, what does that have to do with the current nominees? Confused

Because you said that Disney bankrolled the dub and advertising for Howl. Actually, they also helped fund the original Japanese version first.

And again, YOU missed the point. Being that Howl did not originate (created, thought-up, devised, etc) by Disney. It is Studio Ghibli. Again, Full stop is not an oscar nominee. why mention this side bar?

"Full Stop" is not a movie, it is a slang term (#40 on the list). Wink

Did anyone realize that Howl's Moving Castle was up for an oscar in the Best Animated Film catagory. Its up against Wallace and Gromit and Corpse Bride. I didn't see any mention of it in the ANN news so i thought i would post it heres a link for the oscar nominees:

Actually it's somewhat old news, it was discussed at great length and had a news article but that was weeks ago at this point.

Yes, there's little point in discussing the BAF award again until Howl's Moving Castle loses...

...or wins...

...probably loses.

Don't be such a kill-joy duke. Can't you support your fellow anime...uh...things even if they have less of a chance of winning an Oscar against Wallace and Grommit than Kanye did against U2 at the Grammys (even though that was BS; LR was 100X better).

I think its going to lose but we can't lose hope, but then again Bush won the 2000 election so anything is possible.
