Glad seeing Fate/stay night gaining some popularity here. It's such an awesome show! Cool

Bring it on, Geneon (in the next year or so)! Laughing

This was a bit of a weird newsbit ^^; I don't recall ever seeing any Gundam SEED DESTINY [Insert any Vol# or other popular anime here] #1-3 on Oricon DVD chart reports :P

FSN should be entitled to high sales, especially considering how good the first four episodes were. As of right now, though, the show has wasted most of the potential it had for being a smash hit. We're stuck with a lackluster Fate scenario with dozens of "hints" toward the other possibilities with no real development. If a certain someone dies next week, I doubt the series will ever exceed 4.9/10 for overall quality during evaluations of the series as a whole. ~.~;

...shame. Really.

I can't wait for a U.S. release, and this type of news only makes me want it more. Atleast I have school to distract me while I wait... Damn It!

Many of those hints were in Fate to begin with. All three scenarios dropped hints towards each other in the game because they're all essentially the exact same setup with three different follow-throughs. For the most part, information given in one is almost completely relevant to the other two. For example, spoiler[Sakura is still Rider's true Master in both Fate and Unlimited Blade Works, but that point never came to prominence until Heaven's Feel when Sakura herself became directly involved.]

So really, the biggest fault that the TV series has is that it's being a little too accurate to the one scenario, which in the game needed the other two to fill in its gaps (thus leaving the series with those same gaps). However, apparently Studio Deen is leaving cryptic hints on their website that episode sixteen will see the story go in a new direction (something to the effect of "You think you know how this ends? Think again!"), so it may not be a literal translation of Fate in the end, after all. There is still right around half the series to go, so the possibility of divergence is still fairly high.

I hope this is true, but that means the divergence is likely comming when spoiler[Gilgamesh comes into play]

Oh, I hope they do something other than Fate's ending with spoiler[Gilgamesh.] The Fate scenario has some of the best early/mid-series action, but it has the weakest ending, easily. spoiler[Suddenly Gilgamesh pops up out of nowhere like "o hay there, it's me! the stereotypical endboss, lol." Begin generic anime final battle, yadda yadda yadda. I just find Gilgamesh to be a weak character, especially compared to how well fleshed out the rest of the game's cast is. Just some giant gold ponce with the generic "all powerfulness" of the usual shounen fighting final villain.]

...

spoiler[And what he does to Caster is UNFORGIVABLE!]

Anyway, the endings for Unlimited Blade Works and Heaven's Feel are much more interesting. If they can find a way to combine one of those endings with spoiler[Saber's good resolution] from Fate, I'll be happy.

That's the problem. The Anime gives us a bunch of hints that shall never be resolved; we're not going to be given the luxury of a solidly UBW anime followup, so those who are not familiar with the game are going to be wondering about where some topics "came from". This was the same problem Tsukihime had; too many unanswered questions.

Also, episodes five and six featured a large segment from UBW that really only served as filler; that's the largest hint toward a dichotomy thus far, and to neglect UBW's finer moments after including that is really, really cruel.

What would be great is if spoiler[Archer doesn't die against Berserker and we diverge into the UBW Caster-Lancer-Archer-Saber battle on Ryudoji.] I would applaud!

That would be great, and that is something I would love to see as well. But as for Hevens Fell, I think all hope fans have for it to be tossed in went up in smoke already. For Heavens Feel to be tossed in Sakura and Shinji wold of had to me more important in thrir relationship togeather earler in the series.

I'm hoping the anime does go with its own scenario at some point. Also, I think it would be cool if they did some OVAs that explored alternate scenarios. The OVAs could just start wherever the story begans to change. For example, if 14 is the branching point, it could be a "Unlimited Blade Works" OVA and the first one would be episode 14b or something.

There's a possibility for a Fate/hollow ataraxia OVA, but it's unlikely that a full FSN scenario will get condensed into an OVA. I only empathize with the Heaven's Feel fans; Nasu said Zouken won't make an apperance in the Anime, and HF is too long for a small OVA follow up of this series.

If they were to do HF, it would have been seen from the start. Who know though the Japanese fans may become extremmy voical and we could see HF made as a remake series of F/SN. The chances of that happing though, extremely low.

If aything I would just like the game to come over to the U.S. translated and uncut.

I think it could certainly be possible for them to add some Heaven's Feel elements. All they need is one, good stimulus to spoiler[make Sakura go evil and there you go. Doesn't necessarily have to be Zouken Matou, and they just have to explain the worm thingy via flashback (Rin & Shirou go to Sakura's house for some good old time detective work and find Zouken's notes, for one possibility). As for Rider, it's more than a cinch to say that her summoning was an illegal bastard summoning by Shinji, and perhaps "doesn't count." He DID kinda hijack her from her true Master, after all. And given the ridiculous amount of latent mana Sakura has anyway, it would be certainly plausible that she could perhaps bend the rules a bit and force a re-summoning.]

Argh! There's *no* way this story is going down UBW now! spoiler[Archer died!]

[For future reference, when using spoiler tags, make sure "Disable BBCode in this post" is not checked down at the bottom of the post window. -Nagi]
