So does this have more to do with the company producing the titles?

I mean there are better titles than Tokko out there like Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, The Melancholy of Haruhi, Black Lagoon, Aria (both series) and Mushishi.

Yeah, I was under the impression that Tokko was bad.

I didn't think that episode 1 was bad. I actually liked ep. 1. It followed the manga. If you're not expecting Elfen Lied level violence then it will prob turn you off. It does carry a R-15 warning.

WTF? Tokkô at Cannes? Are they insane? Not only was the show pretty bad, but the animation quality for the first episode was downright terrible. The other show seems like a somewhat sensible choice at least.

Since we're talking about Cannes, I'll wager that any problems with episode 1 will be cleaned up and a perfect episode will be shown.

Besides, just because the TV broadcast has issues, doesn't necessarily translate into the DVD having the same issues. This title aired with a warning so I'm expecting more and improved content on the DVD release.

Tohru Fujisawa must be really happy that his baby made it to Cannes. I hope that he has an appearance there also.

that's so sad they present tokko!! the first episode was a joke.. Anime cry (animation-wise also, but i'm talking about plot, characters, direction aspecially)

my opinion they should've shown Princess Tutu at cannes.

Wow. I had to just turn off the first episode halfway through, I couldn't take it.

The manga wasn't bad, I mean it's GTO's artist after all. I wonder why the series never continued and why are they making a anime out of a discontinued seires?
