Sweet. As one who rather enjoyed the story in Tales of Symphonia, I hope they can pull this off properly.

Here's hoping they one up the Tales of Phantasia OVA, which was good but certainly could have been a lot better.

The game was great. I hope they do the game justice and make the movie good, I would love to watch it!

So I guess the rumors were true. I stand corrected. But is Production IG still going to have any part in it? For some reason, I still think that article was a mistake, confusing the in-game cut scenes (that were animated by Production IG) for a full length anime. And now, they just happened to come out with a ToS anime. Of course, I could be wrong.

Production IG is currently working on the animation for the PSP port/remake of Tales of Phantasia.

bout time after three/four years of waiting for more news they finally start it and set an actual release date.

No, the original report was not true, IG was never going to do it. It was all a mistake made when IG was announced to be doing the cut scenes for the game itself. This is just a coincidence. There's no way it would have been decided all the way back then.

As for the actual announcement. Meh, they could've chosen a better game in the series to turn into an anime. Symphonia's story and characters are too boring to me... I don't even get why they're doing it. ToD, ToD2, and ToA are much more popular in Japan.

I would have liked them to do ToA actually the most, it's currently my favorite Tales game (and not just because Halko did a voice in it). But I think some companies are looking at American audiences too for making money, maybe they noticed ToS's popularity in the US and decided to do that... but I think it would have been better to do another considering the Tales series is FAR more popular in Japan.

Well, I'm certainly looking forward to this. I hope it turns out well.

I wonder what kind of story it's going to have... a side story separate from the game but occuring before the game end, a new epilogue-ish type story, an animation from some event during the game or what. Confused

I hope this is based on the game's storyline. I love that game and its storyline. Best storyline and characters I've ever seen ina video game... Admittedly, I've never played a PS or PS2 RPG, though...

I also hope this anime is good. I don't want to be disappointed the way I always am with Transformers anime.

And like Omnistry said, I hope that when dubbed, it keeps the same English cast as the game. At that, I would like the same Japanese cast, too.

Now I'll kick back and wait for the Phoenix Wright and Trauma Center anime to come along.
