Ok just as the title suggests I just have some questions about it as I have just read the first 2 volumes of the manga.

Okay:

#1 - Is it licensed?

#2 - Is the anime an adaptation of the manga or vice versa?

#3 - If the first, how closely does the anime follow the manga?

#4 - How much of the manga does the first season follow?

#5 - Are the sections at the back of the manga where Yakumo is the main character animated in any part of the 2 seasons?

#6 - And last of all is there any connection between Azumanga Daioh and School Rumble? Just curiours because as I read the manga I sorta felt that there was a similarity between the two. And also that Tenma reminded me of Osaka but more engergetic.

Thanks to all responses in advance...............and no I am not, I repeat AM NOT asking for a download. If it isn't licensed I'll just have to pray it does.

"Believe it!"

You can check if it's liscensed in the anime encyclopedia section, and if I remember correctly it is. As for the Azumanga Daioh thing, it's not related that I know of, maybe the same producers, but I won't guarantee anything.

Edit: well it seems my memory is still getting bad Razz

1) No it is not licensed

2) it is an adaptation of the Manga

3) Very Closely with only minor changes here or there.

4) not sure on this because i haven't read past the first season in the manga

5) yes they are done in a very similar sidestory fashion too.

6) No but they are two of the funniest anime titles I've seen.

I'm not sure how if this affects your descision, but a little bit more info wouldn't hurt...

No. School Rumble not licensed (I wish!), however Media Factory Inc, the animator of School Rumble, has expressed that it does not want unsanctioned distribution of its unlicensed products, and has contacted some parties to cease and desist. Some parties complied. Others did not.

Since the questions have been answered, I'll just put my two cents in by saying: School Rumble is definetly one of the best manga/anime series out there. The jokes are timed right, and the girls are all cute Very Happy And Harima is a pretty funny punk like the guys at Cromartie.

School Rumble is my favorite comedy anime. I definitely recommend taht you watch this, Ichigo. I started watching the first few eps of Azumanga, and it is definitely NOT as good as School Rumble.

They're really not much alike though. One centers around a large love triangle (Sukuran), and the other...doesn't have any love triangles (Azudai).

Oh, sorry. I didn't mean that they're alike... since I havne't seen much of Azumanga Daioh, I can't judge. However, I meant to compare the two comedy and story wise.

School Rumble has a VERY GOOD plot to it as well as great comedy.
Azumanga Daioh seems to lack in plot that consists of very random comedy.

LOL, are you serious? The whole "plot" is just a series of never-ending weird situations at the end of which everyone is back at square 1. The relationships go absolutely nowhere and everyone's utter stupidity and cluelessness is irritating as hell afetr a few episodes and far too much of the comeny is hit or miss. At least Azumanga doesn't pretend like it has a plot and just carries on with its excellent slice-of-life comedy.

Sorry for the rant, but I just find SR utterly infuriating because it tries to pass itself as a romance-comedy but the romance is god-awful and the comedy mediocre at best.

It seems like the "plot" is everybody trying to get the person of their dreams to me, but in all the situations it turns out with soemthing going terribly wrong, or hooking with the wrong person, which makes it even better.

Triangle? To call it a triangle suggests that there are only three people involved. Just branching from the two main characters, Harima and Tenma, one could make a legitimate argument for 13 different pairings involving 14 different people, most of them being one-way and I doubt that any of them will ever actually happen. This is quite a bit bigger than a triangle.

Pascal's triangle, perhaps? I always hesitate to call it a "Love web" or something of the sort.

I am currently reading School Rumble and I get a good laugh out of it. It is sad that it is not currently licensed by anyone. I hope someone picks this up at some point. At first, I heard it was similar to Fullmetal Panic? Fumoffu. After reading the first volume, it was like it but over the top. I find School Rumble to be a likeable high school romantic comedy plus the opening to the first season is very catchy. Like fighterholic says, Harima is a funny guy. You should what he does in his depressed state being unable to confess his love Tsukamoto Tenma.

People seem to be getting a slightly wrong idea about the series. You should not go into watching it thinking it is a romantic-comedy series. It is comedy about trying to obtain romance and the misunderstandings that happen, plus it has tons of very well done spoofs. Dont expect the main characters to actually get together and have romantic situations that would just ruin the series.

Harima IMO is up there with the funniest characters in anime history and equals some of my favorites like Tylor or Osaka. The best part about him is what he does when he is depressed (he is the best moper in history Very Happy) taking everything out in his odd hobbies.

Osaka from which series ? (I ask that because you seem to love the same series as I Embarassed )

edit : ok thanks, I don't know why I didn't think of it.

About School Rumble, I hope Harima will go out with Sawachi Eri.spoiler[Eri has now gotten her feelings in order] in the chapter 182. Those two are made to go well together. And their relationship is the only one that's developed in the story.
