Desert Punk does not air on the Funimation Channel for some reason. Maybe another channel picked up the rights to it?

I don't think there been any press release stating that any channel has pick up the rights to the show. I check around and I didn't find anything that said it was picked up but there is something bother me about this series.

Check out the dvd release schedule

Desert Punk (DVD 6) 2006-08-15
Desert Punk - The Desert Duo (DVD 2) 2006-04-25
Desert Punk - Vixen of the Desert (DVD 3) 2006-05-23
Desert Punk - Desert Dung (DVD 4) 2006-06-20

Don't know about you but at first the series does the standard every other month, but now the last 5 dvds have been one a month? What gives bad sales, good sales? I don't quite understand what's going with this series.

Funi is considering a monthly release schedule. They are using Desert Punk as an experiment to see how it goes. I, for one, like the accelerated schedule and hope they adopt it.

Dear lord I hope not....my wallet can't take that kind of a beating every month. But then again I haven't been buying too many funimation titles (beside FMA right now) but I wouldn't want to go throught that with Trinity Blood, Speed Grapher, and perhaps Basiliks......no no no that would be too much money that I wouldn't have.....
Till next time,

According to ICv2, Desert Punk has been doing better than FUNimation expected it to do. Hopefully this means that they will release more anime DVD's once a month.

I'll check again but I don't believe it's Japanese anime. I'll try and find out.

They've been pushing it pretty hard in conventions, magazine ads, and free preview discs.

Not sure if it still holds true but Basilisk, Speed Grapher, and Trinity Blood were supposed to be on a 7 week release schedule and some other titles were supposed to be like Desert Punk on a 1 a month schedule after the second volume I believe. It probally holds true but I guess you will have to check for yourself. I had the source the other day and it's still on the AOD site but you'd have to go back through various pages of updates/announcements.

AS wanted it very badly, but they were outbid by Spike TV. Besides, it is only five episodes long.

I believe it is only five episodes so far. If the show does well they will order more.

besides that I think that adult swim has picked two very well done series. I also believe that bleach will bring in a lot of rating to the network, which inturn, will bring more new shows

How I wish CN Asia (or RP, at least) has the same AS sched as CN US! Sad Our Adult Swim has no anime, and the only anime there is (on the Toonami block) are Pokemon, D.I.C.E, Gundam Seed Destiny and soon-to-be Shaman King.
