Holy crap!!

this is unexpected...

LOT of people were wishing for this license and now they got it...

i'll be looking forward to this release...although not as much as some other titles...

i prefered Azumanga Daioh as far as school comedy series....

I figured someone would pick this up eventually. I watched an enjoyed the first 4 or 5 episodes of the first season but never got around to watching more. But I plan on picking up the R1 DVDs of this.

I also read the manga, but it just didn't seem to work as well. I think the School Rumble humor is the kind that works better animated than read.

OH YES. Very Happy

Seeing as the manga was licensed, I was thinking that it would be anyday now that somebody would license this. Although I probably won't see a box set of Season 1 for a long time, this makes me very happy.

This is great news. A lot of people who haven't seen it will like the series, and those who already like it will buy it anyway. Hopefully they'll include footnotes or something for all the cultural jokes, a la what ADV did for Azumanga Daioh. I wonder how they'll dub the whole "Harima Kenji --> Harry MacKenzie" joke Razz.

I saw the first few episodes of this series and thought that it definetly could be good, but I wanted to wait for a dub version........but I plan on watching it sub as well once these dvds begin to get release that is.

I'm waiting for ANN's confirmation and not let some rumor-spreading blogger get a hold of me.

Guru guru mawaru!

If they dub "Kun he ~Kaze ni Nosete~" (insert song with Takahashi Hiroki craziness), this will be the first on my to-buy list.

Actually, Chris just said "I have confirmed with ADV Films that they did not announce this title." Not that they don't have it.

That said, they probably don't have it and therefore won't announce it. But I think they have another panel this evening, so there is still a small chance they have it, though unlikely at this point.

Good news. I knew that School Rumble would make the states licensed soon.

Unfortunately (for those who don't know).....

FUNimation licensed it. FUNimation.

FUNimation who did a horrid job at voice actors for the new Negima anime. Now i'm not saying that School Rumble is gonna lean towards the same direction because School Rumble & Negima are two different things, but the voice acting they had for Negima was just garbage.

I was looking forward to ADV or Geneon but as long as it is available in the states dubbed in English it's fine but i'm a little curious about the voice acting. I sure hope they don't screw up Yakumo's voice.

Overall this is indeed great news. Expect to see School Rumble do good in the market. Still, it can never reach the success that Azumanga Daioh had. I really don't see too many comparrisons between School Rumble and Azumanga Daioh other then character similiarities. Two that i've seened so far.

The only thing close to Azumanga Daioh right now is Strawberry Marshmallow. School Rumble is no where near.

Didn't funimation do fma? I don't hear anyone complaining about fma dubs. Not that it matters to me anyway. I'm a sub fan.

Well, it isn't licensed yet. According to the panel reports here, Kodokawa is saying that several companies have shown interest in it, and that they expect it to be released here next year.

I'm not surprised Funi announced it. I mean, I suggested it as a guess for a Funi license months ago...
