Didn't they try to get it but ran into a snag on the Japanese side of things?

Fuss yes. Looks like I won't be needing that 53% off Blu-ray box from Amazon after all *removes from wish list*

luffy: Here's what Woodhead had to say about Yawara on Twitter:

Quote:
No mystery, just a business decision. Our hearts tell us what we'd like to do, our heads tell us if we can do it. In almost 25 years of licensing, we have never had any bad experiences with our licensors.

I'd love to pledge but living in Canada $60 total with shipping is a little too much for my blood.

That's why you gotta be there early Smile

Early!?! It started like 12 hours ago, Lol. Maybe in the next 29 days I can get some OT and back this puppy!

I'd love it if they could do a pledge drive to finish Yawara!

I know it was a flop for them, but I sure enjoyed it and would love to see its conclusion.

This is one of the oddest Kickstarters I've seen when it comes to pricing structure. It almost seems designed to prevent people from donating more than $100 by limiting the number of backers allowed at those tiers to 1-4 people. Usually, Kickstarters seem more than happy to let a decent amount of people pledge a lot of money.

Glad it's going well for them though.

Initially I wanted to back up with 100$ tier and made it Smile Let's hope it gets approved fast.
I really hope for the OST.

It's really bad there were only so little bonus sets (like 2-4 of each).

I've gone for it, although I wish I could have put in a higher pledge (unexpected pet related costs), but my up it before it ends.

Mr. sickVisionz, I think they may be looking at doing additional higher pledge levels or something going by a comment on the board they put up to discuss it.

marek, I think the higher level pledge bonuses were stuff they had available and to hand (some looks like it's from the owners private collection), hence the limits.

I think they're a bit surprised with how fast the higher pledge levels went Smile

If it makes you feel better, this is what Robert Woodhead said in the comments section of the BGC Kickstarter:
Quote:
@Rick: I am hoping this model will make it possible to do projects like more Yawara.

Yawara's got a lot of episodes, and the demand for Urasawa stuff in general just isn't here.

Though it'd make sense again though. The original Yawara series was in preparation for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics for the official debut of women's judo in the Olympics. And now the Olympics is coming back to Tokyo in 2020; they just need a new real Yawara-chan. Smile

Oh, that makes me feel great, actually. I'm really only upset that they can't put out more stuff. I'll love them forever because they brought us the original You're Under Arrest series and Oh! My Goddess.
