| A pretty good review, Carl. Though I personally wouldn't have docked any points for lack of substance, as this is the kind of show that makes it clear from the outset that it doesn't really want or need anything more than whimsy and humor to get itself across.
PS: The "world class space-case" is Yuuko, not Yuki. |

| Does Carl not usually talk about opening and ending themes? Cause I'm really digging Hyadain's work on the OP, having never heard of the guy before. And the ED is just as whimsical as the show which fits really well.
I am enjoying Nichijou though. It's not my favorite comedy of the season (that'd be either Azazel or Dororon), and the jokes do sometimes fall flat, but the eccentric cast and fantastic animation more than make up for that. |

| Hyadain's will known on niconicodouga (as well as youtube as videos leak in) for a handful of his parody music videos. I nearly fell off my seat once i saw the credits. I do like nichijou though and the cameos from different unrelated voice actors (especially norio wakamoto being the wood cube) for the end give each episode one final kick.
I do agree with some jokes being drawn out for a bit too long but many other aspects make up for it. |

| To me Nichijou has been an unmitigated success. I've enjoyed every single episode. It's one part lighthearted humor, one part relaxing slice-of-life, one part glorious animation eye candy. There's nothing better than sitting down to something like that after working all day, and I will be very sorry when it's over. | |||

| I found the animation to be good, but I only found certain parts of the Nichijou to be funny. So I essentially skipped the rest.
But I TOALLY LOVED EPISODE 2! |

| The review writes as if the jokes and the way they're animated are separate elements of the show, and I find that to be a flawed analysis. They don't just work together, they were built and designed together, and as far as I am concerned, are one single entity. Reviewing them separately makes no sense to me. | |||

| Hyadain did the opening for this? Sweet! I love his Megaman music vids! |

But... they weren't. Nichijou is based on a very much not-animated 4-koma manga series, and most of the situations/jokes are very much from the original. It's perfectly true that the original surrealist jokes were conceived and executed through still frames (which still lives on in the anime through the many, many reaction faces). The animation effects were added later to enhance the humor. So no, they weren't built and designed together at all. |

| Nichijou hits some dry spots but keeps rebounding. The nagashi somen sketch in episode 10 had me laughing so hard I was nearly sick!
I'm surprised they haven't had the two groups meet up yet. Seems like there's just so much potential there... |

| I agree with the reviewer but I wouldn't have given it a B.
I think the show is a comedy. If you try to take is a anything else, like the reviewer said, it doesn't really have anything that the genre would need to be good. So for me, I think of it as a comedy. It rubs me because then, once again like the reviewer says, it's a comedy that's not particularly funny for the overwhelming majority of its run time. It's an odd show for me. I love animation and there is some amazing animation in the series but it's a comedy that isn't funny. I keep coming back to that. For a comedy, amazing animation is a nice bonus but core is humor. Nichijou gives you some amazing bonus but it fails so often to deliver on the core of what a comedy should always be: funny. I hate to call it bad because of the crazy high production values, but man, what else would you label a comedy that's completely unfunny for the majority of its runtime? |

| I think the music deserves more credit - if they'd used a typical pop-music track, it would have been a huge drag against the surreal, uncanny atmosphere. | |||

| Together with Hyouge Mono (which is unfortunately incredibly slow subbed) my favourite show of the year so far.
So I can´t say anything about it that isn´t complete fanwank. Even more fun for me than watching the show is trying to explain and analyse the jokes Even some of the Hakase/Nano parts are funny. Kyonani obviously spent a lot of money on this show which makes K-ON! and the such a bit more forgivable. |
