First thing that leaps out at me: Funi is once again adjusting its release strategy. Notice that a complete premium edition of Psycho-Pass is going to be offered at the same time as the (presumably) non-PE half sets. I don't believe they've ever done that before. I'm curious as to what will be part of the Premium Edition.

The Psycho-Pass Complete release is on the top of my list of what I want to get. Might grab Robotics;Notes Part Two if I grab Robotics;Notes Part 1 when it comes out.

Surprised that Shana is already getting the S.A.V.E treatment. Oh well, I bought everything that was released of the whole series(and fans probably hated the changing of the dub actors).

This is the same sort of thing they did with Kamisama Kiss Premium Edition, only that was a one cour series but hey, now we know that the Premium Edition gets the whole show.

Prior to this, they only did Limited Editions.

Yes, Funimation, that's what I said. Oh, I see what you did there...

So. How badly are they doing again?

I'm happy to see Psycho Pass get a release date! I wasn't expecting a premium edition though. When it shows up on TRSI, I'll most likely pre-order it.

The dub cast change wasn't the only reason since in addition to that and the bad BD upscaling for seasons 1 & 2, FUNi also didn't get the season 1 OVA that Geneon had in their previous box sets plus they almost didn't include the Shana-tan specials that the other seasons had.

It wouldn't surprise me if that's also what turned some people away from buying since the Shana-tan issue in particular caused a lot of complaints to the point that FUNi had to delay season 2's releases a few times in order to get them.

I want that Psycho Pass premium edition. I'm preordering that the minute that it's available.

Booyah, Psycho-Pass Premium Edition, baby!

I forsee shelf space being an issue sooner than I expected. Hm... I'm going to have to be more selective on what series I buy premium editions for, what series I downgrade to regular editions, and what series I just need to sell/get rid of. I still have one entire bookcase to fill, but at the rate things are going it could fill up quickly.

Now that more details have been posted, the other thing I notice is that the P-P Premium Edition appears to be Blu-ray only. I wonder if this is an indication that Funi may be close to abandoning the combo release strategy. I hope so. I prefer the Sentai model where I get to choose which format I want and the DVD format is cheaper.
