You can probably watch Soul Eater NOT without watching the original series. As long as you understand the concepts of the story you should be fine. Although I would certainly recommend watching the original before watching NOT because it certainly will help with the enjoyment factor. This is coming from someone who has read the manga or at least all that is translated...
Also, is there a reason the links on the List page are all broken? I would like to look at some of the spotlights, and its not letting me.

Not too excited about this season except for Soul Eater NOT.
My only complaint about SE NOT is....what the hell have they done to Maka???

they made her pupils larger not worth losing my shit over but cant say that its not noticable
