It's not the greatest series ever, but this will help to increase the legal exposure and hopefully increase ADV's sales. I've noticed a lot of companies have been expanding their online presence with streaming episodes and downloadable content. Hopefully, this is a sign that such actions are improving sales and thereby making the companies more vital and able to license, dub, and release more anime.
A question: ADV is a private company right? Does this give them more or less leeway in using digital distribution methods?
And about Venus Vs. Virus: the English dub for this one is surprisingly good considering the show itself isn't quite A-grade material. ADV's consistency seems to be increasing lately, all of their series have been getting well done dubs. |

| I'm curious to see what this series is all about after reading the full preview of it in this month's NTUSA. Actually, I trying to cut back on shows. I gotta catch up with buying stuff I didn't get and I'm looking to see something good. Maybe I'll check it out today. |

As far as I know this doesn't have an effect on their digital distribution. They either own the rights/license(s) to the shows, or they don't. Now what criteria for what they choose to release as digital media, your guess is as good as mine.
Hopefully a ADV rep can give more insight to such things. |

The main obstacle for (legitimate) digital distribution of anime is the Japanese companies' rules and restrictions. That's what I've heard at some conventions, anyway.
Too bad the link gives me "This video not available in your viewing area." Kind of a shame, since I never saw any of the fansubs for this series. At least I won't have to feel guilty about waiting to get it on the cheap. |

Yup, I'm Canadian and it's giving me the same note. It's a bit annoying when they send me the e-mail advertising the first episode but won't let me watch it. You'd think that they'd allow Canadian IP addresses as well since the the volume 1 DVD they're advertising gets released across North America, but they're probably only allowing US viewers.
I guess it's just as well; I'm already following Kurau and Le Chevalier D'Eon on a 'per disk' basis, so I don't really want to be tempted into adding another at the moment since it quickly gets expensive if I follow too many series at once without waiting for the box set. |

| Hm...the voices are good, though Lucia seems a bit too old sounding. I don't like the way they pronounce Sumire and Lucia too, too much stress on the second syllable in both names. |
