So yeah...that scene way back in season one at the end of the murder mystery side story is extra creepy now. Not just The red eyed guy pointing the estoc, but the whiny voice of one of his companions coming up with sadistic suggestions for the most entertaining way to kill their latest prey...

No no, it WAS funny. And accurate. Laughing
(I actually have a pretty good sense of humor.)

Yeah making him look intimidating was something not perfectly done. Maybe they put too much work into making Death Gun look intimidating, and after giving spoiler[him the Darth Maul treatment they did not know how to follow up]

It's odd though....as Higurashi does the same weird distorted faces and loud dialogue and I find that so f*cking terrifying I can't even watch it....

@Bugnin:

THAT'S CHILLING! Shocked

@ Fenix: Yes, you're right. When he said "up until the last BoB," I took it to mean the last battle and not the entire tournament including prelims.

It's interesting how the discussion going on in the SAO II episode review thread in the Talkback forum about the latest episode is completely different in content than the discussion that has been going on in this thread.

Partially a function of different people commenting. Having two discussion threads for the series divides the discussion between them.

The reviewer drives that discussion. He writes pretty scathing negative reviews of SAO, so people that don't like the series generally gravitate there.

They sped a couple of things up. Not nearly as much inner-monologue from Sinon after the cave as there was in the book, and instead of her long conversation with Spiegal, it was a quick exposition-dump.

Maybe 2 episodes for Caliber, 8 for Mother's Rosario?

Hmmm. . . looks like the prediction I made over in the Talkback thread about what direction the next episode will go is going to be spot-on.

Oh, well. I'm sure there will still be something that the episode does wrong that will give people excuse to complain. Otherwise it wouldn't be SAO, would it? Rolling Eyes

Luckily, Saturday's release schedule should ensure that none of us even have time to come by and complain.

True. Between that and other things not related to anime going on, I don't know if I'll even get to the episode on Saturday. . . Naaah, who am I kidding?

And getchman: Given the Talkback thread in particular, I think I'm justified. When people stop taking the attitude that "because it's SAO, I can automatically assume the worst interpretation" (and don't try to tell me that there aren't people doing that), I'll stop bringing that up.

Like I said a couple pages back, a lot of people don't seem to have realized the episode ended on a cliffhanger. That despite the fact it ended on a note of Kirito telling Shino to run.

On a different note, Tap's cleared a bunch of the backlog for translating Reki Kawahara's twitter commentary on the episodes. Here's what's available:
