To be perfectly honest, if they want to make a region-locked game, I'm in full support in the case that they release it like they did the first game, with all the Japanese content intact (and with the option to change it completely to Japanese!). I mean, that's partially why they region-locked it, but what a way to respect the fans despite the region-lock.

All PS3 games except Persona 4 Arena. =P
They had practically the exact same content for both Japanese and English versions (even the Japanese disc had all the English options on it), so in order to encourage people to buy from their own retailers and keep the market stable, they added a region lock onto the disc.

Yes, but to be more precise, you have to go to your account on either the US PSN Store or XBOX Games Store to download it from there. (Either from their Web stores or on the Console.)

Of course, its not only that, the game was 2 weeks difference in release dates from both the JP and US versions for the original P4A.
