I've heard this is apparently one of the worst Gundam games ever made to the point where word of mouth spread really fast in Japan. I sort of can't say I'm surprised if that's the case since it just looks like recycling unrelated games into one particular engine and just tossing it out on to the market.

Uh wow, I'm shocked it is that bad. I mean there have certainly been horrible gundam games, but the recent ones have at least been pretty well done even if they had clear flaws (like UC being short)... though EXVS/FB is just ludicrously amazing and anyone interested in a competitive 2v2 'fighting' game is missing out if they don't try it regardless of being a gundam fan.

I thought it was an actual remake too... at least I didn't buy it and then find out.

Glad David has tried Gundam Extreme Vs as that game is extremely fun and makes 3d/arcade fighting work miracles with the large variety of mobile suits. You don't even need to know english to play the game and have fun.

That's pretty sad, some of these game were actually really good with interesting gameplay to them. There's a lot of potential in the gun dam universe for great game, but they still need to have good gameplay, not bland adaption of whatever gameplay is popular at the moment/easy to make.

I think gundam game get a worse rep than they deserve, many of them are actually pretty interesting, especially when your not playing as one of the main character, I love crossfire for letting me play around with a bunch of different suit that control differently in low key scenario.

Yeah, this review doesn't surprise me. I read another review on another site and it seem to confirm ANN's thought on this game.

Yeah, I'll agreed this Gundam game is pretty mediocre and not a lot of inspiration is put into this game.

Misleadingly marketed

Did you not watch the trailers? It was incredibly obvious it was selected missions without their original styles. There was no 'misleadingly marketing.' Before you bring up the marketing with regards to them being 'remakes', they are multiple types of remakes. One kind is just taking everything and just making it shinier, another is putting it in a unified style. This is the later.

try the smaller-scale, but infinitely more fun, Gundam Extreme Vs.

I'm not surprised this was included, but it doesn't make its inclusion any less stupid nor awkward as completely different genres et all.

Plus it's incredibly subjective. I like the original Vs games. I, however, do not like what they've become. For one, what happened to the fantastic single player campaigns that were in Federation vs Zeon and OMNI Vs Zaft? It's gone, replaced by simulation missions. The online/VS is really the only portion worth playing.

Yeah, I agree with the review. I thought it originally would retain the gameplay styles of the original games. But now they'll all thrown into one generic shooter game. Sad to see they threw away the different styles, as it would keep boredom away for a bit.

The review says it's really bad. But compared to others, is it even worse than the PS3 launch title, Gundam Crossfire? That game seems to be the benchmark for horrible Gundam games.

I read this review and immediately thought to myself: heh, and they said Shin Gundam Musou was bad Rolling Eyes

If this game was on ps2, i'd get it. Seems more appropriate for it

Who said that? I've got the english release (Dynasty Warriors Gundam Reborn) and aside from some issues (Seeds storyline in Official mode is way too short compared to the original Gundams, as is Zetas. Expected Chars Counterattack to be short tho) I'm really enjoying it.

Fantastic single player campaigns? We clearly didn't play the same games. Zaft 2 basically had mission mode instead of a campaign as well with an additional stupid relationship mechanic. I can't for the live of me remember a campaign in Zaft 1... I know it had a good selection of arcade levels and a survival mode, but fantastic single player campaigns I can't remember at all. FB was a bit of a let down, but EXVS had the best single player experience with the level up mechanic that still didn't trivialize everything and unlockables in the 200 different missions.

Probably the same people as usual who either already didn't like or weren't familiar with the fighting system in dynasty warriors games and picked up one because it had an anime name in it they liked.

I'm guessing bandai keeps producing bad games because people buy them? or else there would be incentive to make much better games with professional production values.
