uhh, congrats I guess. 
Seriously, I never heard of 'Cool Japan" Awards, and it's kinda strange for this award to be given to 2 American adaptation of Japanese intellectual properties (Godzilla, and All you need is Kill).

mdo: The idea is those properties promote interest in the originals, hence the awards.

Even stranger is how anything from Edge of Tomorrow would win against anything from Godzilla! Maybe Cruise..maybe. But director? Methinks not!

What? EoT was a better film in nearly every capacity. Godzilla had the monsters and Cranston going for it, but the character writing and general plot development were far weaker. That's fixable if they have more monsters and more fights in the next film and keep the human stuff to a minimum, and no useless wife/child characters.

Has there been any "real" awards been issued to the films verse government approved promotion of export of ideas making money for the Japanese business.
