You're really answering your own argument, you either buy one or you go without.
No need to try and patronize him as well with the age comment.

I don't really think Nintendo would be upset by that.
However what would upset them is continued dismal performance for their video game hardware and software. A new flavor of 3DS probably isn't going to cut it

Dismal performance? 3DS is the highest selling hardware in Japan and now they're introducing a new model there because they buy more 3DS's then anywhere else. Then globally the 3DS is very close to the 360 and Ps3 in total sales.

No wait, you haven't supported Nintendo in years, so what the hell is the difference if you let another go by. Business as usual. You are obviously the integral part of Nintendo's success. |
What an astoundingly dumb comment. Obviously the whole reason people are annoyed is that they bought a 3DS and are now faced with the prospect of buying another one to keep playing games.

Remember how many dsi games came out that were only for the dsi? Only a handful, I'm sure this will be the same.
And the revolving door of technology should be understood by everyone now, buying a new camera, phone, computer, car, etc is just how it is, things get outdated.

True but it doesn't make it any less right IMO. Maybe i'm old fashioned but I prefer to keep things until they no longer work at all. Still I wouldn't mind getting one of these new 3d's since all I've have right now is a 2ds and I need an extra 3ds/2ds to trade pokemon between x and y.

Well, it's about halfway to matching the PS3's lifetime sales and it'll probably hit 50 million by the end of the year. It is selling slower than the DS, but the DS was insane. My guess is the N3DS will have some exclusives, but nothing huge; not supporting an install base of 40 million+ would be stupid.

I agree, not selling as well as the second best selling console of all time is not even remotely close to dismal.
