So in other words, it's like every other volume of Black Jack. Why criticise the series for doing what it's always done? The weird fantasy bits are par for the course with Tezuka, and would it really be better with a more gekiga artsyle?
I don't know, the criticisms feel sort of legitimate, but the whole reason that the stories about BJ's past always pack a punch is because they're so intentionally limited. I mean, if the whole lot was like that, it would be pretty redundant - like if Kamina was the main character of TTGL. - Pips |

I like how the story gets a D....I hardly see how the story almost fails.

I find it funny that the thing you decided to focus on as a positive aspect of this particular volume also receives the lowest grade. I know that grades are pretty much useless, but it still made me laugh. I guess it makes sense to Carlo somehow. |
