Summarizing stuff & the aftermath of Rank Wars.
Strategizing the upcoming battles.
Analyzing the opponents.
Nothing much was going on..
Feels like a wasted episode with nothing concrete going on.

Episode 40:

I gotta admit, this week's ranked war was quite exciting in the latter half. We see sniper action, Osamu playing some defensive tactics, and Yuma kicking ass as usual. Shame it ends in another cliffhanger but it's a good start so far in this round.

And as usual, we get more info dump afterwards.

I wish the recaps weren't so long though. I think it was like...eh, 4 minutes this episode.

Episode 40

I am kind of disappointed that the snipers did not realise that more than her shots revealing her position, it largely telegraphed their team members to the close range team. It was really my first thought when I saw their hiding places blow up.

10 more episodes to go and they haven't been to a single away mission.
Guess they are stretching it... and planning for more episodes.
B-Rank Wars round 2!
Our teams' strategy wasn't half bad.

Episode 41

I can't believe they actually wrapped the fight this time instead of dragging it out another episode. When they stopped in the middle of a face-to-face confrontation to give color commentary about the teams and combatants as if they were just going to pause for commercial, I was sure it was padding for a cliffhanger. I guess they padded so much last week, there wasn't enough leftover to fill this week. Smile

Goal: A-Rank at any price
Yuma picked up a few tricks from spoiler[Midorikawa].
Those commentators are starting to annoy me.
We don't get to see much of the action 'cause of them.
Well, at least spoiler[Tamakoma won this one]!

Episode 41:

Poor Chika D: However, it was a nice way for Yuma's team to advance further.

They've established themselves as one of the tough teams to beat in these ranked wars so I hope to see them keep this level of momentum. The latest match was pretty neat and met my expectations especially with the risk Yuma and Osamu took to gain the victory.

The amount of summary was ridiculous, constant reminders of what just happened.

IF there are only 10 more episodes, there won't be away mission. The anime probably will end after they get to Rank A. Of course, this kind of anime has no set episodes, they can continue forever as long as the manga is still running just like One Piece

Last I've heard, it's still set for 50/51 episodes (I've seen conflicting reports).

It's hard to tell where exactly we are in the manga from chapter titles, since they're so generic, but the final "Large-Scale Invasion" chapter is chapter 81, and we have to at least be through the first "Tamakoma Second" chapter, which is 86 (both in volume 10). There are only 11 published volumes right now, and even with the unpublished chapters, that's only a maximum of 25 more chapters (most likely fewer, since we have to be past "Tamakoma Second 1", but I don't know how much past that).

That only leaves them with 2 options: filler, or end the series (for now). My guess is that they'll end the series for now, and make a second season when the manga has more of a build up.

(From the chapter titles, if I had to guess where specifically we are right now, I'd say we're probably closer to chapter 94, and that the anime will likely end around chapter 104.)

This episode basically covered up through chapter 91.

Episode 42:

Nice info dump and transition episode this week. A lot of competition now in this ranked wars arc. And to think, Ko Murakami defeats Yuma in their best of 10 in the second half. Quite a feat there imo.

It's like Yuma said himself...this is going to be difficult.

According to a quick Google search, it usually takes about 90 minutes to enter REM sleep. Would this cause a problem with what this show was saying about the 15 minutes being enough time to sleep learn?

No it was stated that his side effect allows him to do it much faster than most people.
