Amagi Brilliant Park (TV) Genres: Comedy, Romance Based off of the light novel of the same name. Plot Summary: The story centers around high school student Seiya Kanie, a self proclaimed genius with looks, intellect, and athletic ability. On a Sunday, a mysterious transfer student who carries a musket gun takes him to an old and deserted amusement park, Amagi Brilliant Park. He is told that if the park can't attract 100,000 visitors in the next two weeks, it will be closed immediately. And thus the business comedy, Amagi Brilliant Park, begins! From Kyoto Animation, I'm expecting some gorgeous animation and hopefully comedy as well. One noticeable factor is that the direct of Full Metal Panic (Takemoto Yasuhiro) will be involved in this. Hence, there will be a similar character who will debut in this show. The PV has a decent theme song imo and the premise looks like fun. |

Episode 1:
Well, that was odd. I mean, the park may have some spoiler[fun attractions but it sure isn't attracting visitors. Or maybe I should say guests since Sento refers to them as such...] I think this show has some creativity behind it but I wonder how far it will expand on that. I think spoiler[we meet most of the characters this episode as well even if they were just brief. For the main character Kanie, I think Sento described him pretty well after doing her "research'. Anyways, this did somewhat meet my expectations but I hope it can really surprise me soon enough.] Was that a spoiler[kiss btw? Hmm....] |

The park had one weird thing after another. I liked his comments on everything park related. Wow, he got pretty irritated fast. This is weird, but it has potential.. Might give it a try. |

Episode 1
Is that..... spoiler[Bonta-kun]? Moffle must be his long lost brother. Perhaps not as obvious as usual, but seeing the character in the OP made it clear that this is a KyoAni series, so we should expect a certain quality to the animation. Strangely the character models look less moe than most of their series that are not Free. Suspicions that maybe there spoiler[was actual magic involved were kind of there], but it was not until I saw the spoiler[elemental fairies that I was sure it is actual magic people that suck at selling to normal people]. |

Aaaaaaaah, some of that wonderful KyoAni goodness. Just what the doctor ordered. Really enjoyed this first eppie. I like the characters, humour and premise. Love ya, KyoAni!

If KyoAni continues to deliver like this, they can make as many seasons of Free! as they'd like.... This was beautiful!

Yes. Two minutes in and I was already completely in love with Kanie Seiya. Such perfection.
Beautiful animation, great comedy, and mysterious elements...and romance too! This show is a winner, all right. :'D |

Not exactly the first time they've done fanservice-y stuff. That hot springs episode and the final episode in Fumoffu comes to mind (which, my god, was almost 10 years ago!  ).
I REALLY hope this gets a simulcast; I don't want another Hyouka situation. |

What a great first episode!
The animation was great, the soundtrack pretty good, loved the comedy and it pretty much ticked all the boxes for me. Kanie Seiya was just great. So can he just spoiler[hear women's thoughts or everyone's?] Better phone crazy Mel Gibson for some pointers just incase, lol. Dat Isuzu Sento Fanservice... Blink and you miss it

Hmm 2nd episode already? Also I found an interesting tweet regarding the character's names. They are named after rappers lol.
"not even kidding Kanie Seiya = 可児江 西也 = Kanye West Sento Isuzu = 千斗 いすず (五十鈴) = 50 Cent Kyuubu Aisu(久武藍珠) = Ice Cube Latifa=self explanatory" Kurisu Takaya = Chris Tucker Now i can't unhear Kanye sama. It all makes sense now why he is such a narcissist. |

Ah, that makes more sense now. spoiler[Kanie's speech or rather his speech was to get the crew fired up and pissed off at the same time. I kinda knew he was bluffing for a minute since getting 250k visitors in less than 3 months with what they've got is overwhelmingly challenging. I think he has a plan though.] Anyways, like the others, spoiler[I'm curious to see the purpose of his first move. Why did he close the park at the end??] |
