I mentioned that the way characters express themselves is not realistic, but it was not really a critique as I also wrote that it is usual hyperbole to make a show less mundane and more entertaining (real communication style is very well reserved, composed and monotonous even in creative environments).
This time, however, what I wrote is a real critique since it is not about how things depicted/happen, but about what is happening. |

Not going to lie, that spoiler[idol idea (well the whole package) at the end was glorious. This show always finds ways to make me go wow at times even when the episode has a slow start each time.]

Episode #8 where it turns out that an animator can not draw even a damn cat (!) because she has no idea of its basic anatomy (!) is too hard for me. I am trying to watch it for whole week already, and it still did not end yet.
I highly doubt that this is realistic since animators get tested, they have to know how to draw a cat. (I am not animator, but even I can do it.) Authors have to have poor imagination not to be able to come up with anything more exciting or at least more realistic than that ridiculous issue. And, again: character design is so generic that even to eighth episode I was confused who were members of school club, and who were not. I thought that cat girl was, but she was not. |

Because heaven forbid not every artist is good at drawing everything. If you paid attention, she was drawing the cat just fine, but wasn't satisfied with it.
Stuff like that are realistic issues. Mundane, sure, by reality isn't all excitement and explosions. A newbie trying to catch up to her seniors and thus pushing herself to match their quality and beats themselves up when they fail. That happens all over the place. If you can't distinguish the main characters by now, that's on you. They've distinguished themselves in design and personality enough that even if you don't remember their names, you know who they are. If by cat girl you mean Ema, yes, she was a member of the club. This episode introduces another common, if not particularly exciting, dilemma: Misa has a good, stable job but she's not satisfied being stuck doing the same thing every day. She wants to be more creative, but she's not going to be able to do so at that company. Really hope Zuka gets a break soon. I want to see her hard work pay off. |

Alas, no, the cat girl did draw cat bad (of course, imaginary effects were made it look even worse, but it is separate issue). There is no excuse of not being able to draw a cat or, the more so, not understanding basic anatomy of an animal.
There is no chance in real life that such animator could get a job. They always tested on people, unnatural and natural scenery, and animals. Cat is not some weird rare animal, she absolutely had to know how to draw it. |

In this shot; there were others where the cat was pretty bad. And no wonder, how else authors would convey an idea that the charter has struggled with drawing cats? It would be absurd otherwise.

it may have not looked that good at first, but it was still far better than what Luna looks like in Sailor Moon Crystal. she does have drawing skills, but she is far too hard on herself

This was the only other one and yeah, it's just a blob but I think that was caused more by her stress induced hallucination rather than a lack of drawing skills. The problem is her lack of confidence. She can draw cats okay, but she's struggling with it because she doesn't believe it matches the quality of the veterans. She's not happy with what she's producing, not believing it's good enough and she's stressing out over it. That's why a break and a nice walk went a long way. |

One of the shots was without her being hallucinating and cat was wrong.
However, all those petty details do not really matter much. Main issue that continues is that even if viewer is at least half through being able to discern one female character from another, there is still not enough in them start caring about what happens to them. Authors are not pulling this off yet, alas. |

do me favor, if possible. this is your problem, not mine and clearly not Vaisaga's. So write like it is instead of assuming this issue includes me and everyone else watching this. please |

I never wrote that about exactly *all* of viewers, so this perception that it necessarily includes you is your problem, not mine. Do me favour, if possible, do not assume things I have never written.
Continuing on characters: some of them such as director and producer (two puffy guys) are more distinct, easier to track and care of than the cliché (presumably leading) female characters. So it is not like authors are incapable of coming up with interesting characters, it is just the leading ones fail. |

Episode 10:
The focus on the characters and story is great for this show. I like how they spoiler[got the storyboard going now and the voice acting was good too for the animation.] And is that spoiler[donuts I see?! The return of the donuts! :wink] I wonder what spoiler[Misa's next move will be though.] |

Looks like the rest of the first cour will be about finishing the final episode, and then the second cour will cover trying to make their own anime.

Episode 10
A little risky to spoiler[give up her first pretty well thought of position, even if it lacked the creative aspect]. As the guy said it would be spoiler[a bit hard to recommend her for quitting so early, I could have seen it as maybe a good idea to be looking into other companies without actually resigning]. It would not be like that company would be too much of a rivalry to some other studios since it is so specialised. And it looks like the anime studio will be spoiler[losing their head of production and an assistant]. Well they already had spoiler[one leaving the company earlier, and one is Tarou]. |
