Hi.

I hope everyone take time and give an honest answer.

If you could buy a

65 cm high Anime female figure or a
100 cm high Anime female figure or a
170 cm high Anime female figure

based on Cattleya (see picture), what do you think would be a fair price?
Consider that it will cost a lot money to create this. I prefer that only serious suggestions are given.

What height would you prefer to buy?

If you had the chance of 1:250 to be the owner of a 65cm or 100cm figure, what would be a fair price?

If you had the chance of 1:500 to be the owner of a 170cm figure, what would be a fair price?

This is a project I have been working on for 2 years now. I have one obstacle to overcome before I can offer this - the production cost of a prototype.

I have been rejected at Kickstarter for this idea (pornography). I am working on several alternatives to raise money.

I would like to know what You think. If you have any questions, please ask.

Note: My figure is not a resin figure. It is a figure you can change into any posture. Hair color, hair style and eye color is possible to change.

EDIT: Changed your pic into a link as it is Not Safe For Work-ish. -TK]

Honestly?? I would not buy that figure at any size or any price. It is so deformed as to be grotesque instead of sexy.

I realize this is not what you wanted but you did ask.

Is this with or without their permission?

Please don't regard any of this as harsh, that's not my intent in any shape or form, but think about it for a moment, you have an idea, something that you have a passion for, so why not just make it your own?

You should give Kickstarter another try, but go back with a different angle, a new approach. Make it your own work and ideas - it could be the underlying structure of the figure, the unique way that you approach the assembly of it, the materials used, whatever it is that you've worked so much on for two years.

As you've already discovered, you won't get far trying to pitch something that depicts the gravity defying, ridiculously over sized boobie aspect. It's Kickstarter general public, not Kickstarter otaku fantasy (but what the hell do I know? they may already have something like this in Japan? anyway...)

I'm pretty sure total strangers will be more than willing to support your original and honest efforts. Especially if they see that it has been carefully considered, and brings something fresh to the table. This could also lead to something unexpected for you, such as someone in the entertainment or figure industry being interested in how you managed to solve the problems you encountered in the construction of your work.

As for how much I would spend?, I wouldn't spend a single penny on some lazy painting a picture from a picture bullshit that doesn't have the approval of the original artist(s). Would you?

Hi.

Thanks for the honest reply. Any reply is better than no reply.

There are 3 body types available at the moment; small, medium and large breast. This should be the extreme, but it was more expensive than I expected.

Hi.

Thank you very much for the input.

I have not been specified enough in the description, on purpose.

This will be a general Anime figure, not "Cattleya". I should not need any permission to do that? The picture is more an illustration of how the owner can make it look.

This is a head that might be used, but I think it doesn't have enough "Anime look".

(Picture)

I would like to mention that the reisin figure of "Cattleya" is a "still picture" of a human in motion and it try to show how body parts can move. The figure will look a lot different when it is not moving.

well that certainly changes everything. please disregard all the stupid crap I said in my previous post. Thanks for the clarification.

A pic of a generic figure, although not as attention grabbing, would've also made your point?

And yes of course, you're correct, no permission required - it's your own work, you're fine (just be sure to protect your ideas/designs as needed).

So back to what you're asking. 65cm or close to 26 inches, 100/39 inches and 170 or almost 5' 7" for a posable figure that is adjustable.

I'd never buy anything that big. 1/6th scale is already too big. 1/8 is more than plenty. Those sizes you're suggesting are crazy for a personal collection/a small home or apt. No space there. But on the other hand, an anime convention group/floor booth, store owner, movie theater, shopping mall or some other business with deeper pockets and room to groove might be interested.

Good luck!

I have to agree with lem. 1/6 (Barbie Doll scale, about 12 inches for a 6 foot tall male) is already too large for most figure collectors. The largest I've seen advertised is 1/4 or about 18 inches for a 6 foot person. What you are discussing is substantially larger. I'm not sure most collectors would have room even if they wanted one.

You state that they can be posed in any manner. Are you talking about a figure with freely movable joints or are you saying that the pose can be specified in advance for a static figure?

Hi.

Thanks for the reply.

The figure have a skeleton, not a full human skeleton, but with the most important joints. This make it possible to pose it in any natural pose. If you later want to pose it in another position, you can do.

This will also make it easy to use the same figure and present it as different characters (in example "Cattleya", "Mizuki Tachibana", "Suzuhara Misa" or "Kimi Aoi" to mention a few) with change the clothes and hair. On a reisin/pvc figure it is fixed and it is almost impossible to change clothes.

You can do this on a action figure, but the joints on these are (I think) ugly. It is possible to get the similar as my in a smaller scale, but I think they are to expencive for the size.

Here is the prices I am working with:

65 cm high Anime female figure: US$ 500.-
100 cm high Anime female figure: US$ 750.-
170 cm high Anime female figure: US$ 2500.-

This is a picture from the development of the prototype. It is not as the doll will look like, only a sketch:
