Aira, Mia, and Naru have already appeared in the PriPara anime (they're "The Saints" that inspired everyone of course), and PriPara was being billed as Pretty Rhythm Season 4 when it first came out, so there's no surprise here.

That 3-month filler they had between Rainbow Live and PriPara even had all four girls in it.
