I actually didn't think they did a good job of making me care before they killed someone off. But they did make me care after.

I'm a sucker for ninja anime (see my name) and the current terrible state of the Naruto manga leaves so much to be desired.

I usually check what comes first, but since I've been hearing that the series is more action-driven than plot-driven and that the manga features lots of fighting scenes, this makes the anime a better option for me.
