Of course, and now it's licensed and on Funi (right?) and it's... guess, what... yep, CENSORED. Highschool DxD CENSORED. I give up. I wait until I can find/see an uncensored version because Highschool DxD CENSORED is a worse sacrilege than whatever Testament did.
I pretty much have the same words for this as I had in my final review of Testament. Censoring a show that relies heavily on ecchiness is like cutting out the action scenes in an action series. Would someone watch such a series? And it is one of the few things I actually anticipated this season, too, but no... not like this. |

I'll probably have to give a peek at the BDs once it's out. Funimation's censoring is ridiculous..
The latest episode is more of a buildup. spoiler[Obviously, it looks like Ravel has a thing for Issei now judging by her reactions. Koneko's origins are also revealed including her relations with her older sister Kuroka. I think the episode ended exactly where I thought it would be so expecting a fight next time.] Oh and Akeno seems to have some deeper thoughts lately as well in this season. |

Well, apparently there are uncensored versions out already... *cough* Well, too late for now... Honestly as I said... Who would watch an action series without action scenes? If you censor ecchi bits in an anime where it's only a minor thing and not part of the actual category, I could live with it. Not like it, but live with it. This makes no sense, however, because by doing so you essentially rob it off at least one key part of its selling value.

I actually run on the trial right now since I don't have much patience for downloading. First episode I've watched with fansubs but this one I watched on Funi. What pretending? |

Episode 2
Nooooooo Funi, you son of a motherless ogre... How can you do this to me... To us!? Okay, the fan-service was on the little side this episode but still... I like my Highschool DxD like I like my ecchi, uncensored and bouncing. Still I believe in the words of Issei. 
Rant over! Anyway, it was a nice buildup episode with us finding out about spoiler[Koneko's] origins and meeting a few new members of the Gremory family. I'm quite looking forward to next week and the introduction of spoiler[Rossweisse]. |

Episode 2
We find out a bit more about Koneko. This is what I liked that happened in season 2, Kiba was on the underused side and then we found out that there was more to him. Similarly Koneko also largely had very little story so spoiler[finding out that there is another side that she is actually a cat spirit] is appreciated. In general seeing all these characters is a plus that this series knows new things need to happen to help the ecchi. Also lol that Gasper's spoiler[incredibly difficult training was simply being in a crowd]. I am unashamedly a Gasper fan. And oh my the preview. |

When season 2 came out it was the same story. I saw the first episode streaming and got fed up not even halfway through. At that point I made the decision to just avoid the stream and wait for the BD to arrive which was about a year later. It was worth it. Sure you don't get to razz around with the other people in the ANN forums in real time but when you do that you discover that isn't really important. You also get the dub which in DxD's case seems to be as good if not better than the original soundtrack. DxD is an unusual title for me because normally I really don't like the overlarge boob character type. For some reason Rias is different -- she somehow seems to have a dignity and grace that other characters of her archetype lack. The artwork of the prior two seasons made it palatable. So have fun everyone agonizing over the white streaks, steam, black streaks, and cutesy "you don't get to see this" icons. I'm outta here. |

So, finally got around to it (thankfully with an uncensored version, although I guess it really wasn't THAT much this episode to get upset about).
Anyway... I am also glad we are finally getting some backstory for Koneko, she's probably my fav and we haven't really gotten much background on her yet. So, I am really happy about that. |

Pretty much the same here, and I think the "dignity and grace" point is a good one. Yes, it's possible to accomplish this even in a fan service show, and the way Rias (and to a lesser extent Akeno) usually carry themselves in such scenes is a great example of that. Put simply, DxD is the right way to do it; Triage X is the wrong way. |

That was fun. I mean..I think spoiler[Issei got the chunk of the fun with Rias especially involving her OPPAI. It's for the good fight though  ]
The ending of the fight felt kinda spoiler[anti climatic imo regarding Kuroka. I suppose they are going to take the drama further soon.] |
