Oh she actually recently made her debut in the show. One of my favorite Sins from the show so glad to see Merlin in this :3

I personally would've wanted Paku Romi as Merlin but I'm sure that Maaya Sakamoto will fit as Merlin

Announcing new additions to the cast 4 episodes from the show's ending is puzzling. Unless there'll be a second season, that is.

The show actually has already revealed that fact in the wanted posters. But I guess many people didn't notice that.

Except we've yet to see Merlin's face aside from posters, if she was a character that appeared out of nowhere it'd not be a spoiler but since it's a character that already exists it kinda is.

Wait, I'm confused. You claim that showing Merlin's face in the thumbnail is a spoiler because she already appeared on the Wanted Posters?
If anything, the Posters misrepresented Meliodas' facial features and didn't even show Gowther proper, only his armor

It's not really "announcing" and more like "adding info to the site".
And don't expect second season in the next few years, unless there will be some filler season, since there's simply not enough material. This season will end a first part of the manga, and the second part has only started.
