Does anyone remember the old days at rental stores such as Blockbuster. I have read elsewhere that someone who used to rent Streamline Dubbed Hokuto no Ken Movie on Orion VHS rental copy remember gore scenes with no blurring or filter. I have also wanted to know if any collector has Streamline's 35mm Print of Fist of the North Star Movie uncut. Many fans believe that 35mm prints were destroyed in the fire and the Italian VHS version is the closest they'll ever see. Do you guys remember anything? Let me know.
There are rumours that certain pre-release rental copies with different bar codings in the US are completely uncensored, but if it were true, it'd have shown up. America only got the theatrical cut to my knowledge (different ending), which is still censored.
Plus there's far worse stuff than Fist gore/violence-wise that was released uncensored. Where I am (England), it was the same theatrical release, and the remasters are also censored. From what I can find, all regions got the movie in some kind of censored form. So I don't think it's available anywhere, if it ever existed. Someone feel free to correct me on all of this. Last time, someone was trying to restore some scenes by using whatever unedited scenes were available from the Italian version and remastered trailer on the Japanese DVD as an unofficial project, but that's it.

Part District 9 meets O Maidens in Your Savage Season, part grimdark deconstruction of Doraemon.― Many anime films are adapted from manga and Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction is no exception. Usually, a film will cover a single arc of the greater plot—giving the story on screen a solid beginning, middle, and end. However, this is not the case with the first Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destructi...

However, for all the good to be found in the season, there is a notable flaw: its pacing.― On most levels, Classroom of the Elite Season 3 falls into the category of being "more of the same." After all, the usual story pattern remains intact: Some new threat comes for Ayanakoji's class, and he pulls strings from behind the scenes, eventually coming out on top. That said, this season does its best to...

We're taking Fantasy Football to the soccer field to build the perfect team of egoists.― Unlike other sports anime, Bluelock's central theme doesn't revolve around teamwork and self-sacrifice. The manga creator shares the horror films that influenced his series set in rural Japan, where humans are on the menu.―
Is Masaaki Ninomiya's horror manga Gannibal folk horror? It certainly fits a lot of the subgenre's definition. Set in a strange, isolated mountain village, it touches on how ritual can influence insular communities and how that looks to outsiders – and even more importantly, how o...
