WOW! Finally! While I was hoping Grendizer would get released as it is the 40th anniversary of Go Nagai's Classic Super Robot Anime, Gaiking. arriving on region 1 is Awesome.

If you really want to corner the market on old, bad anime, Discotek, I wouldn't mind seeing you pick up Baoh and Cyber City Oedo 808.

I wouldn't mind if Discotek licenses the 1979 Cyborg 009 series.

Mazinger Z must of sold pretty good for them to get another 70's Toei Super Robot show.

Just hope they will push more to getting Sunrise's older mecha shows though.

For example any of these.

-Ideon
-Xabungle
-Aura Battler Dunbine
-Vifam
-Heavy Metal L Gaim
-Dougram
-Panzer World Galient
-Layzner
-Votoms with OVAs

etc...

Also would like to know if Dr Slump tv series has a chance after the movies came out.

I miss the ultraviolent, sexist, mysogynistic great anime OVAs and films of the eighties and nineties. Nowadays everything is just so damn bland. Tasteless. Give me back Urutsukidoji.

Exactly - while I wont dismiss all anime these days with the "It's not as good as it used to be" brush, I do admit that I miss the era of the early 90's OAVs, where the most crazy shit like The Ultimate Teacher or The Humanoid would get dumped to Laserdisk.

Discotec strikes again !!! even though they don't often have things that i really want i almost get everything from them anyway cause they do have alot of stuff i do want but woudn't really get if it's out of print and really expensive but the thing from them i'm really looking forward to is that Dororo set finally watch it with English subs !!!
Fuimation pff outsode of One Piece they really aren't getting my money anymore verry often but that might also because of MangaUK and anime limted in the U.K perhaps.

If Funi or Sentai licensed such old titles, I doubt that they would as much success since Discotek specializes in licensing classic titles. Now, if they were able to license some of the WMT, that'd would be really nice.

They've got Giant Gorg, which is a good start.

Wow, Discotek is really getting good show's in their line up.

I miss Gaiking, I just hope it comes out alright. I watched the English dub way too much be able watch the show through a setting. They had some good voice actors back in the day.

I'm thrilled that Samurai Pizza Cats is coming back. The show where the dialog was improvised! Laughing

Well, I already own the first print of Wicked City. Thing is Wicked City does need a BD release in all it's "blue" glory. But Gaiking? Wow, did not expect this acquisition. Looks like I'm going to be in charge of getting some good ol' fashioned Go Nagai for our collection. If this keeps up who knows what other stuff we'll see from Discotek. Thank you guys for bringing all the good classic stuff to us.
