Ahhh, I was thinking more along the lines of Kannagi myself.

Oh, of course. Given the idol+god premise, Kannagi was a more logical choice than Kamichu!. |

Stepping in. From the official sub.
War has never been completely eradicated in history, because its sense of reality is essential to humans. Having wars going on out there somewhere sustains the illusion of peace in our society. And it has to be real, with no charades. Reading about wars in history books isn’t enough. That’s too much like a fairy tale. If people don’t get to see actual deaths on the news, if misery isn’t displayed, peace can’t be maintained. The significance of peace would be forgotten. People need wars to feel alive… |

I don't think I know what this is, but I'm very intrigued.

Hint # 3: spoiler[The outspoken, contrary director, from time to time, criticises the the industry and fandom: anime is "a copy of a copy of a copy".]

Boy, that makes the director pretty clear, but I am not placing this quote in any of his works based on the other two hints.

This is spoiler[Suito Kusanagi's author tract from The Sky Crawlers].

People keep on saying that spoiler[Sky Crawlers] is meant to be a critique of the anime industry, and they're right, it is. But, if you don't already know that salient fact before watching the movie, then it's nigh-on impossible to figure that out on your own just from watching it. The movie is pretty darn obtuse about the message it wants to tell.

This is correct. Your turn, Raftina. I take it you call it the spoiler[author tract] because of spoiler[the dolls behind her as she speaks]? |

I called it spoiler[an author tract] because spoiler[it's a ranting philosophical passage from an author given to these types of rants.]
dub: A: I'm not sure that we can do it without you, you know. B: Yeah, well, I'm not gonna fall for that one again. A: Huh? B: Don't even bother, A. I'm not gonna let you use me like your brother did. Last edited by Raftina on Wed Feb 10, 2016 10:38 pm; edited 4 times in total |

... Did you hold your mic up to your speaker to record that?

No. I used the audio monitor function of Pulse Audio, or so the controls claimed.

Are you sure that you linked to the right file? I cannot hear it well enough to tell if it is the same dialog, and my speakers are at maximum, but I do hear a beep that does not seem to be in what you wrote. But maybe that was just a sound effect in the audio track and not an edit. |
