Wow things are a mess. Just picking something out without worrying about an order, could we say that was raped by that older girl? There seemed to be the implication that she pressured him into sex, in which he was scared, he was uncomfortable even if he was attracted to her in some way. It would be a weird way to say it, what with how she was not really violent to him, that they seemed to have an "intimate" relationship afterwards that he liked her, and in general does not fit the image one would have. But it did seem to be affecting him.
Hanabi probably feels horrible as she likes her friend, but not in that way, that she cannot change her orientation despite maybe a moment thinking she is cute. Was she trying to make feelings stronger for Mugi so she would not feel bad for her friend's confession? Otherwise kind of amazing that the scene went down the way it did in a tv anime. The only other show that can kind of come to mind in a similar way is Yosuga no Sora, but that show was truly unhealthy in its themes. And looks like music sensei is not so innocent, sleeping with an ex-student while clearly building something with her colleague. |

Hm.....that is a tough call for me to make. He did say he was scared.....but it also seemed consensual......geeze.....I....I don't know! It drives me nuts when I can't make up my mind about something like this. I'll take a peek at the manga maybe.....but so far the adaptation is incredibly faithful. |

I love this show.
Man, that's gotta really sting for Moca there: His old tutor clearly doesn't have a problem with going for a former student; she's just not into him personally. I really loved the handjob scene. The first-time awkwardness mixed with excitement felt very realistic. I lol'd at the aftermath of him ejaculating on her clothes.
I don't know. We didn't really see exactly what happened and it's debatable if they even had sex. The scene could be read in several ways, but my default reading was that he didn't have any particularly strong romantic feelings for her but liked the attention and physical stuff, even if in retrospect it seemed a bit empty. All this stuff really shows the complexity and capriciousness of human nature: people's emotional connections and intimacy operate somewhat independently from their need to discharge their urges. However, seemingly contradictory, those two things are very closely related and the correlation is not very much under the person's conscious control. |

I really liked this week's episode. Felt pretty realistic although I still find the relationship between Ebato and Hanabi to be kinda awkward. The background storytelling regarding Mugi is interesting though. I really like how each episode explores more of his character.
Hanabi and that teacher's rivalry could also be heading town a more tense route. I think there's sort of mind games going on between the two that just started. |

It's funny, I can watch ecchi and hentai and not blink an eye, but there is something about the restrained, yet very intimate, way Scum's Wish deals with sexualized activity that makes me feel positively ... dirty ... watching it. The young age of the characters adds another layer of skeeviness to it. Mugi, I guess, was only around 12 years old when he had his, er, adolescence taken from him.
Same here! I doubt I watch more than 17 or 18 hours a day.

Interesting, Yttrbio. I always appreciate when people who know Japanese add their interpretations. However, setting words aside, although it is not entirely clear that Mugi had sex with his senpai, they certainly did more than hand-hold and cuddle.

Image from another anime I was just going to put the picture up before thinking it might be a little too lewd (there is a butt). After the work that the anime has gone to saying characters did not will not have sex together, the not mentioning it while showing a young lady straddle a young boy makes me have assumptions. So far I might hazard that his refuse of going that far is actually from him being too invested after doing the deed, that it mixes up his feelings just as he cried from finding he would separate from skinny senpai. |

I am positive they did. "Taking a peek" at the manga turned into reading chapter after chapter because I could not stop lol. I won't spoil anything though. I was quite positive they had sex even before reading it though just because of how the anime presented it. |

Is there any way to watch this outside of Anime Strike? I'd be up for it, but I'm not keen on spending an extra $60 per year on top of my Amazon Prime subscription that I'm honestly planning on getting rid of this year just before it renews itself.
Maybe I'd keep it if Anime Strike were included therein. |

There's no way to legitimately watch it outside of Amazon.
... Not that that has stopped me, of course. Episode 4 Well, now we know who the Queen Scum is. Very unfortunate for Hanabi that the love of her life has been ensnared by a douchebag narcissist who only gets off on the desire of a man if he is being desired by another female. I really hope Hanabi finds a way to injure this piece of shit. And then just to round out the slate of wonderful females around her, her best female friend is a lesbian predator. Oi. |

YES, THANK YOU. Ecchan is very popular because she is a lesbian, obviously....but I find her to be a pretty terrible person. She's practically a rapist and I'm disturbed at how much people ship her with Hanabi even though it's a completely unhealthy and disturbing relationship. >___> Of course, "everyone" is "scum" in this series....(though honestly I don't find Moka to be scummy at all and unfortunately, she doesn't get a lot of scenes....boo) I have to add Scum's Wish is the first series to open my eyes to how a story can be dark and disturbing without the slightest bit of violence. I guess I'm a little late to the party.
